Ah, can't leave things alone there soldier? You'll like it around here. This used to be a "normal" scooter. Check out the cooling fins, hand sculpted by moi.

Welcome to the forum Offutt, glad to have you on board.
Andy, you do fine with tech questions. Well, there was that one where you told the guy to pour gas in the headlight. But other than that!

Not to worry Robert, I have this engine albeit on a different scooter. You should read this over. This is how the canister shakes out:
So yes, in answer to your first picture, the purge line from the vapor canister goes to the airbox so the nasty gas fumes are used up. You must not have any open ports on the airbox or vac lines.
Yes, that hose probably goes there. It is an accumulator for oil vapors. It cannot remain open as it produces a vacuum imbalance when it is left open.:
In answer to the above pic, it goes to the airbox.

I think the temperatures inside the engine are too hot for that substance to coalesce inside the case. It is almost a paraffin type substance and cannot exist as it does inside the engine as it does in the external filter. I would like you to pull the filter basket though just out of curiousity.

I just forgot! Knowing my wife if I try to send her flowers to apologize I'll be throwing gas on the fire. I am going to wait until tomorrow and see how the waters are churning. I'll offer to take her to Red Lobster, that usually calms things down. Rich

OK fine. What would make a bike run a short while and stall? Here's some scenarios: 1. Bowl runs out of fuel. Run a line right from the tank to the carb and eliminate the filter and fuel valve as suspects. This only works if your tank is higher than the carb. If your tank is lower it may be the pump. In that case rig up a source higher than the carb. 2. Bad coil. Sometimes they will run a bit and then fail. Swap out a coil, they're cheap. 3. Bad CDI. Sometimes they run a bit and....see above. 4. Bad sparkplug boot. See above and you should have got a new one with the coil you're buying. 5. Bad plug. Replace it, they're cheap. 6. Bad carb. Who knows with them, get a new one for $30.00.

Get a helper. Have them slowly open the bleed valve while you GENTLY pull on the handle with the reservoir cap off. When you get to the bottom of the pull have them close the bleed valve. Release the handle and start over. When the fluid gets down pour more in. When no more air comes out you're done. That's how I do it but there's lots of schools of thought on this. There are videos on this in the brake section of the Library and the Video board. My brother, who has been a mechanic for 50 years, says you can fill the reservoir, open the bleed valve, walk away, come back a half hour later and the lines will be bled. I've never had much luck with that. Rich

Any ideas on where I can get the foot boards? Pretty bike...I hate you. Did you try searching CF Moto V5 Ebay? Was told to downshift one notch for a faster running bike, Is this the thing I would adjust?? This thing is under the seat sitting under a metal plate I'm not sure what to change, I cant seem to find an idle screw. I'M SO LOST I happen to have this engine and am working on mine right now. Those are your valve gap adjusters and if you don't know what you're doing you don't need to be messing with them. There is nothing to "downshift" and whoever told you that has a cranial rectal insertion syndrome. Here is your idle screw, I had a few of those in college:You can zip tie all sorts of stuff to that rack:Your engine is the 244cc CF Moto clone of the Honda Helix engine. There are videos in the Video board of the Library and the CF Moto Fashion manual under manuals or Honda Helix manual under Honda Manuals will address your engine. Read them over and let me know if you need more help. I know this engine so I can help. Rich

Great find RV, thanks for posting. Yes, I remember Shindig all too well. It was an answer to American Bandstand and Hullabaloo. I was a little kid at the time but I remember watching them with my oldest brother Ben who was the coolest human on the planet. He had a Vette and a Harley Sportster. He was frosty. Rich
