Check the technical section of this website for what to and how to do on checks with the voltmeter . There are several good pdf's ( that I made) for electrical trouble shooting. Sounds like a short of some sort. Have you checked your solenoid to see if that isn't functioning ? I would also pull and check the starter motor itself . will c.

Might also check your stator assy . On my last Roketa I had a similar issue develope and I had to replace the stator and the attached magnetic ignition trigger switch . the swich had failed and was giving me the varried spark .

Is this a gravity feeding system (Non vaccume) ? There could be a smaller seperate oil tank put in when the gas tank was manufactured. The top of my stella's fuel tank has the oil fill cap on the same top as the fuel cap but goes down a tube into a smaller 1qt oil tank below the gas tank . will c.

Honda Elite 80cc or Aero 80cc . I had one like this in 1992 when I was in Portland Oregon. Solid running scoot , not fast . Just don't forget about the 2 cycle oil if there is a second smaller 2 cycle oil tank under the seat. $50 , good deal !! will c.

The more you work your poor engine with "performance " parts , the sooner it dies !!! those parts may increase the envelope but it will give you shorter engine life ( higher strain , rpms) ! They can be mean sometimes to ones engine and tranny when those performance parts go toast ! will c.

I took a look at your videos . Pull the starter ! If your getting a click click , it shoud be replaced asap. Mine was working one minute then stopped and all I was getting was a click click when testing it ith the solenioid . Bashan remembers the h#%^ it put me through till I got it figured out and it was replaced. It turned out there was engine oil and fluid inside the starter motor itself which was keeping it from starting the engine (and giving me a 'click click when trying to turn the engine over). Also check your timing chain tensioner aswell. There should be constant pressure on the timing chain and no slackness of any type when turning the engine crankshaft and valve cam shaft. Might also check your timing ( engine top dead center and camshaft at the timing marks . Reguardles, I would replace the starter immmediatly and take it from there ! will c. ;D

The stock air filter is restrictive in the air flow coming into the carb and lowers power . By replacing it with a better quality aftermarket air filter ( like the Uni) your going to get better air flow into the carb and abit more power once the jet and carb has been properly adjusted . will c.

Thankyou for the tip Matt !! Right now I am in the short hop trip mode ( errands and speeds under 50mph) . Yes , I am glad I am not the only Stella (Vespa) "gear head" in the forum . It is fun running through the gears . How long have you had your scoot and when did you get it ? willc.

The transmission on a Vespa or Stella 2T is all gear ratio's .No belts or no chains inside . There are 3 gear areas that comprises the entire transmission mechanism . Each has a specific ratio . The final gearing selector for the 4 speed tranny is on the end of the rear wheel axle. There are 2 cables that operate that. I'll get some pictures posted as soon as I can to show this . More to come . will

I thought I might do a posting to update the others on how things are going with my stella 2T scoot. I am most likely the only scooter who has this type of scooter on the forum at this moment. It has been just over 4 months since my Roketa was totaled by an errant driver who cut me off . 1 week after the accident I had the chance to get a Stella at a really good price and went for it. Yes, I could have gotten a nice new twist and go but I chose to go with a scoot with abit more old style class . I got a 04 stella 2T . JFYI The Stella 2T is basicly a vespa PX series that is made in India. There is a huge parts interchangablity between the italian made Vespa PX series and the indian LML made Stella2T. That is a very good thing in my book. As of this moment I am averaging about 70 to 71mpg on the 2 cycle powered scoot . The carb automaticaly mixes the 2 cycle oil at a set rate. It is one less hassel to deal with. The old vespas required you to do that manualy with a little oil measuring cup. The Stella 2T and Vespa P and PX series scoots have a 1qt 2 cycle oil tank that is below the fuel tank. Trust me on this ,it has been one doesey of a learning curve since I started riding it in Dec. No more easy twist and go like on the gy6 powered scoots. This is a totally different ballgame !! The shifting is manual by the left hand and wrist. What was my rear brake lever is now my clutch lever on the left hand side . Talk about letting go of the clutch when reving the engine high . It doesn't take much to pop a wheelie on a vespa or stella when doing that. Rear brake ? The rear brake is located on the right floorboard . Why the italians put it there is beyond my comprehension. The fuel system is totally different aswell. It isn't pressurized as on a chi com scoot. Its all gravity fed . There is about 1ft total of hose going from the fuel petcock to the carb. The shifting between gears has been an issue of sorts for me. I'm finaly getting the hang of how little or how too much it can take to mis shift between the 4 gears . Going from 3rd to 1st isn't real great on the crussform , clutch and gears . I am improving with each day I ride. Learning to ride a vespa or Stella takes abit of time if all of your previous riding expierence has been on the chi com twist and go scoots. At least now I don't have to worry too much about a drive belt snapping when at 40+mph or accidently running out of 4 cycle oil from an unknown leak . I will admit that the seats on a stella are not as comfy as a roketa or other chi com scoot. The shocks are not as cushony either when going over rough terain . That I can handle . If anyone has a question please ask. will
