I finally got some decent weather to work on my scoot today . Items addressed : Carb fuel air mix on carb and engine idle screw on top. The fuel-air screw is now adjusted out to about 2 1/4 turns out after letting the engine warm up fully . Factory settings for the stella LML 2T engine (and my guess vespa px) is 2 1/2 turns out if I remember corectly. Today I started at 3 turns out . Hopefully I'll be able to get back on the road if weather permits. One thing on the vespa PX older vespa's and stella's : make sure you turn your fuel petcock off when done for the day. You'll flood the engine and carb if you don't !! will

Try a vespa carb ! They can get just as frusterating as the gy6 carbs !! They are gravity fed ! If they are oil injected more irritating to deal with . They got the d@$% carb crammed into a tight spot ontop of the engine . My 2 bits ! ;D will

Just a quick update . My scoot is still having carburetor issues . I may be looking at rebuilding it after the first of the month . Yesterday I was able to start the engine but it is spitting oil a tad from the exhaust pipe. Normally on a gy6 engine you would be in big big trouble if that was happening . That isn't the case on a Vespa type 2 cycle engine. The 2 cycle engine smokes abit more and it actually can be used to better tune your Delorto carb . I'll be posting about the differences between the standard GY6 carburetor and the totally different Vespa 2 cycle carbs later tonight or early tomorrow. Even with the Japanise 2 cycle engines the italian scoots carbs are totally different . I saw the postings about others having carburetor issues and thought posting about a vespa carb would be nice just for an info purpose. Have a great start to your week ! will ;D

Not recomended using a dremil ! Best to spend the extra and get a proper case boring tool. I tried to use a dremil when my 61mm cylinder wouldn't fit into my old scoots crankcase in March ! Big big hassel when trying to fit . The case boring tool will help keep things in parameter between the 2 crankcase halfs with less hassels. All it takes is just a little too much with the dremil to screw up your days work and being forced to get another crankcase!! Scooterworks.com if I remember corretly has pre bored crankcases that will be less cost than buying a boring tool outright and doing it yourself. will c.

The same sparkplug coloring from the 4 cycle gy6 still applies to the 2cycle carb I now have in the stella . This engine also has a 3 port , reed type valve and no overhead camshaft, timing chain or valves . That in itself does help when upgrading to a larger cylinder piston and head . No case boring is required on the 150's crankcase either to put a 166cc or 177cc cylinder piston in. Will C.

I found the air fuel mix screw on the side of the carb earlier today . I'll try to get some more info for the forum. I am not dealing with the same type of Carb I had on my roketa . It's either a d@#$ italian made carb or a d#*& Indian made copy of the italian one. The idle adjustment screw is on top of the carb cover that covers the air filter .

Pulled the plug earlier tonight . Plug end was and is black . I'll need to lean the air/fuel out abit correct ? Checking the mix via the plug end color ? All in and 1 1/2 turns out to start ? Before this the engine idle wasn't working as it should have. Being too rich may have been the culperet to my issues I am now having. One more question , Do you have to richen up the air/fuel when at higher altitudes ? The previous owner had this scoot in Denver before moving to the lower 2600ft here in Boise will
