Truthfully despite the little issues I have had with my homebuilt engine , I do like my Stella. It has been a great experience ( with a few frustration's here and there) . In the Boise area there is only about 5 or 6 Stella 2T's . There has been very few issues with the scoot itself . Yes you do have to expect to replace a clutch cable and or shifter cable here and there .They do stretch and wear out from daily use. However if you keep up with the routine maintenance , it will last longer than a Chinese scoot. Just my 2 bits worth. willc.

Hey ! If he keeps up with the maintenance on the stella , it's not a bad scoot !! Others may differ on that. A friend of mine has one with 15000+ miles. Only recently has he had to replace the stator . Otherwise its pretty much stock ! willc.

Ok time to get my 2 cents in ! Remember , I have the Vespa TX-200 engine under my 04 Stella 2T's seat ! Yes the engine has the LML electronic ignition that the Stella has . Yes , Stella parts are available here in the US and if needed overseas ( SIP in Germany) . PX parts will also interchange with my 2T Stella ( aka LML Star outside of the USA ) parts or vice versa . You can still get new LML engines as well or build one up to your own requirements if needed. Im not sure what the parts availability will be like with the new 4T Stella and Stella Automatic scoots now hitting the market here in the USA and overseas . willc.

B"H Another Stella scoot in the forum ! I have had a chance to take a look at the new Stella automatic 125 at Boise's only scooter shop . The only problem I see with the Automatic Stella's is there is no real spare tire. It may look the same on the outside as my 2T but its a totally different bird underneath ! No shifting . The Auto Stella is set up control wise like a Chinese scoot with no shifting . A person who likes the Vespa look but wants to stay with a chinese scoot type controls would be easily intergrated . Please keep me posted on how the 4T Stella works out. Having had both Chinese and Stella-Vespa . I like the classier Vespa look better. Better quality parts as well with the 2 cycle Vespa- Stella series . willc.

JFYI The problem sometimes with the smaller carbs one of the needles isn't adjustable either. One has to take that into consideration . If you can tolerate a manual choke those type of carbs blah-!may be an option as well. willc.

Maybe its time for him to do a full carb rebuild or just replace the d@#$ thing all together with a new one. Speaking of carbs how is your replacement working on your scoot ? willc

Cyborg's hunch could defiantly be right. I remembered the recent headache my float needle assy caused me on my Vespa engine carb. I would get fuel flooding out the carb a bit leaving a nice puddle of fuel oil mix if I didn't turn off the fuel tap. Marking its spot. The ethanol eats at the rubber tip on the fuel needle allowing fuel to flood in. I replaced the needle and float assy and for the most part I haven't had the leak issue. A bad float will also flood an engine out as well because its got fuel inside and isn't floating and not sealing off . will
