i don't mind fixing older stuff but it sure would help if the stealerships would stop marking stuff up by 2000 percent.

still have the forks to do yet as the seals leak and the fuel lines and the radiator flush but it's almost ready.

found out why the bike was "free";
2 new tires
new battery
new brake pads and shoes
new voltage regulator
new fuel pump and relay
new brake lines- clutch line,( not available from manufacturer)
new master cylinder rebuild kits
used gas tank
new mirrors
new directional signals ( some moron hit it and it went over)
lots of elbow grease getting through 30 years of neglect. need to clean up a few more things but it's almost ready for Americade

2 wheelers need to be extra careful. i also used to drive trucks x country and while delivering a load in atlanta noticed a woman driving 75 mph while talking on the phone, applying eye makeup and breast feeding a baby all at the same time. which was nothing compared to the 6 hrs of questions from the philly police about the dead body in the dumpster.

yep, i don't see having a problem keeping up with the big boys. gonna wait till the temp gets above 21 degrees before i do any more testing tho. even with winter gear that's cold at 70 mph. i think the biggest complaint was the 3.4 gal gas tank and having to refuel every 80 miles instead of 100 or more.

this is gonna be fun. i can't wait to get it out on the 4 lane to see what it does. it's got a serious power band above 5k and seems to be all top end. it's got all the power and half the weight of the goldwing.

ok, 0 to 80mph using 2 gears is definitely different and i have to get used to 6 gears
