sorry, i'm always a day late and a dollar short. You weren't, I picked it up this morning, and it was pretty easy to do. I think throttle response is a tad better, too. Thanks for the help. Next on the list, is the handlebar mod, new pipe eith exhaust wrap, and body panels. I'm working on my cdl, so hopefully more money to come.

how i usually do mine is to get the new one, tape it end to end with the old and pull it all thru as one piece. may not work that way if your cable is broken tho. The cables I've seen come with the housing, I just don't know how to undo it from the carb side.

Was a beautiful day for riding around here as well! Even got some two-up riding in with my fiancee on the back. Lovely... Until. Rode solo to pick up some fast food dinner for myself. Cager decided he needed to stop suddenly in front of me. ( I know, my fault for following too close ) Locked up the rear and I think the front as well, because the scoot got squirrelly just before I came to a stop and I couldn't keep it upright. Scoot wound up on her left side with a bit of road rash, although I was almost stopped before she went down and she probably only slid a foot or two on the concrete. I wound up on my back in front of the scoot. Luckily I know how to take a fall as there's not a scratch on me and my helmet never touched the ground. Shook my fist at the cager as he drove away, dusted myself off, picked up the scoot, fired her up and proceeded on my merry way. Ah well, the joys of riding in the city... Scoot safely my friends!!! Jim I know the feeling. Had a guy cut us off once for the on ramp lane with a 3ft gap. Thinking of getting a paintball pistol. Two: one paint, the other pepper balls.

Seems like all 60s come with one shock. I'd just get a perfoemance one, surprised to hear that adding a second one is so pricey, could probably do a rear disc for about the same cost.

Honestly; unless you can get the senator to pardon you on your scooter, the only advice I can give that'll keep you out of trouble, woukd be to get a bicycle, and try to get your lisence back. The IDGAF asvice would be to pock another route, and keep it under 35. Drive it like theres cocain under the seat.

So, aboutnlast week my cable snapped, and I saw they're cheap online, and called the guy I usually take it to, and he said it would be about 40$ to buy one from him, so I have a Motorcyle Superstore right around the way from me, I'm going to go to. I'm going to try and take it off tonight, so I ask; anny advice on removing it? The air box sits on top the carb. Wishing I made that cai already, because of it.

I like the mtb one, personally. It just dawned on me that I would need a new guage cluster. Also thinking about getting some of those handgaurds that dirtbikes have.

That handlebar clamp would be perfect Which one, the mtb one, or the Rukus one? Aside from the sort of "racey look," I think cockpit maintanence would be easier, and it would be easier to get a hold of decent headlights, without constraints of the oem housing. The only other thing is welding the tabs for my mirrors- I'm not giving up my mirrors, they are perfect for the bike. I have these: www.partsforscooters.com/108-54-Scooter-Mirror-Set?sc=34&category=132615

I like the idea,, post a pic of the original clamp area please Thats the only pic of the bike I saw. with research, I saw where somebody suggested the use of a mtb/down hill threadless stem, and then there's like the Ruckus, where there's a clamp like most mopeds are. Here's a thread I found on it.: scootdawg.proboards.com/thread/54774

If I could get them to fit somehow, I've got a wicked set of bicycle handlbars, that would look real good flipped upside down.

http://instagram.com/p/BGDYSMmovl2 I've been considering the look, I kinda like it, but before I totally screw something up, just curious to how appealing scooters like this are. Kinda reminds me of a bike version of a racecar without a dashboard, and only what's really needed, or something. It would free up the area, giving me the ability to improve, things, or ease of maintainence. I don't know what bike I'd need the handlebar and parrs from, though, maybe a Ruckus or small dirtbike?

Thanks that was nice. The best I have seen are put on by Bartlet Shows out of Milwaukee. The one put on for the 4th in Milwaukee Harbor is awesome. Thunder Over Louisville is supposed to be one of the best, I think biggest in the country, too.

I did think about hids, but not without a projector, though. I've seen over on MA, where a guy did that to his moped.

You are correct the color combo was popular. My '65 Volks Wagen Type 1 (Beatle)(Bug) had the Tawny Beige body with the Cadillac Rose fenders and interior materials. Theres one I see often with the color scheme. It has one of those large chrom luggage racks, and what I guess is false luggage, always on it.
