Now what did I come into this room for again?
You may be right Alleyoop, but different person.
I'll spend some time looking the link over it looks like it will be very helpful. I can already see that the missing cable is needed.

From Roketa I had ordered two seat latches and two seat latch cables.
I received two seat latches and one seat latch cable. The seat latch cable I got was one with three connection ends.
Not having started with a working system I'm not sure how to hook it up. Can anyone post a picture of the seat cables correctly hooked up? I'd sure appreciate it.
I'm not sure what the second cable is for and what the consequences of not having it are.

Thanks for some great ideas Alleyoop. Aliexpress had a lot of choices.
Here is what I decided to do since I have it all apart . Right beside the side latch there is a large hole in the plastic that doesn't appear to be used. I have taken black fabric strap and tied it around the scooter frame. I will run this strap through the hole in the plastic. On the other end I will tie a carabiner style hook.
I can then take my helmet and hook the D rings to the carabier hook with the helmet strap over the edge of the seat. When I close the seat it will lock my helmet in place.
I would have much rather gone with the "stock" helmet holder but it doesn't look like that is going to happen. Even better would have been if my helmet had fit under the seat.

Thanks Alleyoop. Mine is apart right now since I am replacing the seat latches. Here are two pictures, one of the left side right under the seat. The second is of a hole in the plastic in roughly the right spot. This hole is different than the one shown in your pic. It doesn't seem to be firmly attached to something metal. If it isn't this hole I don't really see where it is. Where can you buy the hooks with straps you mentioned?

Thanks Alley.
Roketa promises me that they will ship today.
Does anyone have a pricture of a working helmet hook on either a JCL MP250A or a Roketa 250?
Mine is missing and I don't see one on the Roketa parts page.

Attached is a picture of the side latch with the cover removed. I was able to unjam it. It looks to me like it is all there except when I compare it to a picture of a new one mine is missing a spring. I have no cables at all. None from the key to the side latch and none from the side latch to the rear latch. Am I correct that the parts I will need to get things working correctly again are: - Latch side (1) - Latch rear (1) - Rear latch bolts & washers (2) - Cable from key to side latch (1) - Cable from side latch to rear latch (1)

The one on the left side of the scooter has a latch. Everything is solid. Nothing moves when the hook drops in or you push a bit with a screwdriver. The one at the rear of the scooter is gone entirely. I think I see a hole for the latch to bolt to. Attached are some pictures of the side and rear latches as seen through the holes in the plastic covers.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
I haven't had this apart before, is the easiest way to the see what is going on with the latches to remove the plastic cover on the outside, or to remove the plastic liners on the bottom of the seat compartment?

The seat opens and closes. It does not get latched down.

I bought a used 2011 JCL MP 250A. The seat lock does not work. The lock barrel turns when you put the key in but the seat doesn't get locked or unlocked.
Any ideas what might be wrong and/or how to fix it? Has anyone had this apart?
It sure would be nice to be able to lock things away there as well as lock up my helmet.

One of the nice things about the battery warmer that I mentioned is that you only need to install it once. After that, you just need to plug it in which doesn't require removing the covers every time since the plug is left somewhere handy.
It makes it quick and reliable.
