Yea, the rear brake pedal on the floor! So you need to balance the scooter with one leg, while the other one pushes the brake, stupid design. I by-passed that problem so I can keep both feet on the ground. I've always held the front brake anyway.

Sounds to me like someone hooked your brake lights to your starting circuit. Find that wiring block, mine is in the front dash.

Got a 2 finger puller and it came off, not without a fight. Looks like the splines in the sleeve have been damaged somehow. As for the variator. All of the rollers have flat spots, some have two flat spots. It looks to me like no one has been in there. Someone made a note in the manual that they replaced the clutch, but I don't think they got into the rollers. So, Thursday I'll get my new parts, and it should slide along real nice...Can't wait, I've been riding this bronco for a year, sick of it. Thanks for the input.

There should be a wiring block somewhere. I'd be making sure all the wires are in the right place.

That's what I'm starting to think, a burr on the splines. Heat won't help that! That's good, I didn't want to use heat. I need a 2 prong puller, I'll pick one up later. If I can tear the variato r off and get to the sleeve, it will be easier to deal with.

Trace the wiring for the brake. If it does it with both front and back brake, that narrows it down a little. Do you have a wiring diagram?

Thanks. I think it was just some dirt or something, it cleared up and hasn't been an issue. I am going to get a replacement just to have on hand, they're cheap. I'd love to convert to manual choke, but too much money and too much work!

The sleeve (boss?) moves back and forth just a little bit, so it's not frozen. It's like it's catching on something. Stumped.

That would be great if my variator just slid off like that, but it's not, that's the problem.

The cone shape of the inner face of the variator.should give it some strength for the puller.

That sleeve is stuck on the shaft. I was just thinking, I can put the wheel puller on it and just put some tension on it, then just use a heat gun to heat the sleeve, maybe it will just pop off and hit me in the head.

The variator, not the clutch.

I've hit it with penetrating oil every time I took it apart to sand the clutch. I'll use some heat and pull it off. It's got to come off. The guy at the shop he's had to cut it off once, I hope I don't have to go that far.

Just have to get the variator off, it's stuck on there. I'll rip it off with a wheel puller. I didn't try too hard, I was afraid of damaging something. But it's coming off, one way or another. I can't stand riding it like it is, so....
