Yeah, it's actually more on the rare side to have the gas tank below the carb on these scoots.

How to remove the side panel Heritage 150 to change vacuum pump If your talking about the vacuum petcock, remove the seat to get to it and just replace it with a regular Manuel fuel shutoff valve . The vacuum stuff is junk

I had to get a high torque starter when I did my 63mm build . The stock starter had a heck of a time trying to turn the motor over. Even with the taida high torque starter, it still sometimes gets "caught up" on the compression stroke and I have to hit the start button again , but it def starts much easier with the new starter. I've had issues before with a weak battery keeping the scoot from starting . It would turn over , but it would turn over very slow and it would cause the scoot not to fire.

First thing he needs to do is start the scoot with the cvt cover off. If the variator spins when the scoot turns over , that means the woodruff key is fine. Next take the spark plug out and try to start the scoot . Hold your finger over the plug hole and feel for compression. If there's no compression this means you either have blown out rings or your crankshaft separated from the piston. I forgot that if the timing chain breaks , more than likely both valves will be closed due to the valve spring tension. Are you sure you have a spark plug in? Sounds dumb but hey anything is possible, lol

Good chance the crankshaft broke free from the piston.or timing chain broke with the exhaust valve in the open position. the chain by the starter clutch only runs the oil pump , so even if it broke you would still have a running scoot until it burns up from not oil to the too end

I always left the kickstart gears and everything out of the cvt after I took the cover off . I never liked the kickstart setup on the gy6 , it always worried me that something was going to get caught up from it. I always wondered what would happen if you hit the kickstart accidentally after it was running , maybe nothing but it just always worried me

Your prob right , the kickstart post is prob holding you up. I'd prob try to work it out possibly tap the post in while working the cover off. I run the 842 length belt. You def get a lot more travel up the variator with the 842 , so you should have a little more too end. I just don't like how these scoots don't have an rpm gauge. I had to buy an aftermarket one so I could run the cvt correctly.

Is it turning over ok? If it's weak you may have a hard time starting.

Possibly could have a vacuum leak that's sucking in too much air
