I was getting a surging on my 150cc scooter and I figured it must be either in the belt or rollers. Scoot had 1,800 miles on it when it started getting worse. I ordered a new belt from Scrappydogscooters and rollers. My scooter came with 17 or 18 gram rollers and I dropped it back to 15 grams. The belt was 835 and I went to a 842. The new belt and rollers cured the surging and my speed went up nearly 5 MPH. Today I took my GPS along for the ride to check the actually speed, 55.3 MPH, a new record for this scooter. Previously it would top out at 55 on the Chinometer now it's 59 on the Chinometer. This was on level ground and I was wearing a heavy coat, gloves and riding normally sitting up. I would imagine if I went into a full tuck I might be able to squeeze 60 MPH out of her. I weigh 220 lbs. so I guess that's not too bad for a 150cc scooter.

Great looking scooter, looks like a Honda Metro but probably a 1/4 the price!

Nashville is recovering pretty quickly, Opry Land Hotel is scheduled to open in late November just in time for Christmas. The remainder of downtown has been repaired and most homes that were flooded have been repaired or destroyed. I was super busy this past summer due to the flooding but work has gotten back to the normal traffic for this time of year.

On Monday I placed and order with Scrappydogscooters for a new belt, rollers and other parts around 10:30am. I received my order Wednesday afternoon, order was correct, nothing missing or wrong and I even got a $5.00 discount for being a member of the boards. Great service considering it was mailed from Las Vegas to Nashville. Thanks Scrappy, good job!

Scooters, photography, model RC boats, sailplanes, helicopters, and anything that involves flying. I was fortunate enough to work in the hobby industry before the economy crashed. I was involved in product development and got to travel to China and Germany in search of new products, it was fun while it lasted.

The Stella is known for having holes burned into the piston. This is caused by running in a lean condition. If it's setup correctly the Stella performs well.

No, reason is the CVT is a variable speed ratio system, if you did put a sprocket and chain on from the clutch to the front variator you would only have one speed, probably very slow. Scoots that do use chain drive systems have a transmission that you change gears on and a auto-clutch.

fuel pump

If tank is lower than carb you'll need a vacuum fuel pump. Mikuini makes a good one the DF-44, sold for under $20.00! Keep the vacuum pump as close to the vacuum source as possible, use good quality Gates or Goodyear hoses and connect the vacuum port directly to the intake manifold or as close as you possibly can to keep the vacuum pulses as strong as possible.

Broken valve spring? Or, possibly a bad wrist pin, I had a Honda 150 Dream that did that, turned out to be play in the wrist pin. Got a new one, no more noise!

One suggestion is to remove the crappy emission controls. If your Evo is like my Carino, it has a PVC valve that has two vacuum lines twinned together from the manifold which terminates in what looks like the end of a sprinkler. Remove that and connect your fuel pump vacuum line to one of the now open vacuum ports on the manifold. Connect the other vacuum line to the line which had your vacuum fuel pump. You'll notice and immediate improvement in startup and idle as well as better fuel delivery. I left the line going to the canister from the fuel tank since I wanted to be sure the tank was vented. It doesn't seem to help top end speed but it sure improves drivability and cold starting.

The cell phone indicator should work if it's near your cell when it's ringing or you make a call. At least it does on mine. It's actually not worth worrying about since you can't see the light in bright sunlight. I have to admit thought it's a nice conversation piece.

Tiny frog

I remember way back on Waco Texas around 1955 or so we had a huge Tornado that wiped out most of downtown Waco Tx. My brother and I were standing on the back porch of our home and watched it rain frogs for 15 minutes! After the storm we picked up two 50 gallon garbage cans full dead frogs in the yard. Same thing, I believe they were picked up during the Tornado.
