I just had the same problem,, what Bashan said is right it worked for me and my was charging ..to add a little help I even put a deep cycle on my go cart because I thought mine was not charging either.. turned out it was the battery just a thought.. 150cc motor also

Alley I read your reply and see you said adj the fuel mixture would of fixed this .and I also agree I totally forgot about adj that so I took out the bigger jet out and tried it and that..it worked also ..most have the plugs in and forgot that I can drill them out and adj so thanks for the extra info

well found out what was wrong ..I changed the idle jet to one bigger and now it starts great.. I really believe each one of the GY6 motors have different things one might need that another doesn't ..being one idle jet works well on one but the other needs just a little something different like one size bigger jet but both the same motors ..any one agree lol thanks for everyones help this site is wonderful  |

hey Ally wondering what the R/R is and there is A good battery in it.. I checked the spark and seems a weak to me should I check the flywheel gap between the flywheel and the pickup ..is there a gap to check or no??

Well I forgot to let ya know I did charge the battery out with one on my scoot ..it does crank over just as well as mine as I did 2 BB 80cc side by side and yes this is first time starting but when it does starts it runs fine ..but I due have the exhaust off because when the stock one was on its couldn't get the exhaust out that was my other ost so waiting on another bigger exhaust ..but I dont want it to run long without a exhaust on ..it couldn't be back pressure of exhaust can it ..I dont think so..now what.. still check voltage going to starter??oh yea whats the R/R

have a starting issue ..with no battery charger on will not start ..BUT..will start with battery charger on?? heres what I checked and changed.. new CDI..spark plug..coil..valve gap set .004 both..pulled flywheel cleaned inside of fly wheel magnets and cleaned stator contacts..kill switch..cleaned carb..wondering what else I could check causing this no start without motor spinning fast.. for it to start.. when started runs fine??? (stumped) plz point me in right direction..keep in mind I repair these a lot so very knowledgeable.

Today I did 2 bb kits on my tao tao VIPS one worked very well everything went as planed with exhaust and air filter upgrade..the other didnt go as well ..did both side by side except on the 2 one I left stock exhaust stock air filter on and is very hard starting and think exhaust is blowing by valve cover vent hose seems like  ? thinking I cannot run stock exhaust with a bb kit 80cc ..probably correct right ...think that getting air and gas in but to big of piston to get out stock exhaust and blowing out valve vent hose instead .. valves set on 1 at .003 on both intake and exhaust works great ..but 2 stock one set valves at .oo4 on both ..dont think valve setting is problem ..thinking exhaust cannot get out cause stock exhaust is much smaller ..I think I am right |

well I had a starting problem so I cranked my starter for problem for at least an hour now it dont sound as strong..even sounds weak.. now my button doesn't work so I keep doing this jumping the solenoid guessing that is bad also.. and dont think its the switch I think I cranked it long as 2 years worth of use.. now I ordered the solenoid and thought getting a good started will only help in long run .. any ideas??oh yea fixed the starter problem scoot runs well now

just installed a 80cc BB kit on my scoot worked well after fixing carb problem .. trying to find a better starter .. cant find on ebay.. anyone know where to find one for my tao tao

Is the A9 cam stock on a 50cc??? Also will this cam will be ok with the 80cc BB kit?? in other words keep stock cam on 50cc to 80cc rebuild..all good right

thats what I also did.. Iam a toolmaker by trade 27 years.. I also polished the top of piston to prevent carbon from build up being the surface was rough cast alum and deburred everything I seen that had sharp corners..I believe this will help too
