is the ring gap ok? eg not compressing enough. if the gaps too tight beforehand you run a chance of them expanding when the motors hot and can shattering.. also i lube the rings and barrel when assembling i'm can usually compress rings by hand but if you want you can use a spring compresser. or even a hose clamp...(thats more of a MacGyver rig) just dont score the piston.. terry

I ride so fast it never gets dirty.... YEAH RIGHT....i use simple green or WD-40 for degreasing im afraid to use engine degreaser around the plastics on this scoot and near the body and or tupperware... also put a zip lock bag over the exhaust pipe to keep water out if you do hose it and dont spray the airbox area too... i use LUCAS Speed Wax or COOPERS spray wash and wax (coopers is out of Hesperia Calif) on the body also the lucas works good on windsheilds goggles and or face shields too... Just dont do the floorboards!! seat!! or tires!! SAFETY disclaimer.... But when we raced desert back in the day we were known to sneak into our buddys pit and armour all the seats on their bikes terry

yep Rich. had that happen on a 1975 suzuki TM-125. it would cool down then run fine it was a PITA to chase it down!!! Even replaced the kill switch coz it was questionable.

as for the muffler packing BC back in the 80's KERKER exhaust and answer DG (damn i'm old!) anyways they Manufacturers wanted 30-50 bucks back then for repacking material the same fiberglass that was in home heater or A/C filters 1.50 and some paper tape to hold it in place LMAO!! i'd use fiberglass if i was racing off road in USDA aka forests and steel wool packing when it was desert or baja time we drilled out the rivets and put never seize on stainless screws out west here no rust probs coz we are in the desert whole different animule/animal in yer neck of the "woods" eg rust salt water etc terry

i agree on the price they are nuts! as for the cheapos be better off with a soup can and steel wool! supertrapps are great had alot on my dirt and dualsports pricey too but worth it for longevity and tuning by adding or removing discs. answer makes or made?? good ones too on mine (A 80 cc kit) GY6 if i were to change the exhaust i'd look for XR75-80 silencers and cut, weld, or slip it on my stock headerpipe and do the A/F. i just drilled out the stock one on mine trying to keep the noise down the secretary of war... ah... better half dont like loud pipes.. plus the mufflers i've seen for scoots on the scooter sites are a gimmick IMHO... flashy then trashy.

mine is a Vip cowlings almost the same as yours i take out the screws like Rich said and it slides down towards the tire on an angle and it has plastic locking tabs it slides off hard (will fight you) but be careful cheap chin plastic is brittle and you can bust the tabs off!! install is the reverse line up the holes and slide cowling back up and put in screws GOOD LUCK hope this helps terry

Nope. i take the CVT cover off at least once a month and inspect/clean it out usually not too dirty. its dusty here where i live at plus i'm pretty "anal" about maintence and the holes i drilled were with a 7/8 hole saw (take the cover off to drill it) the front of the cover i left alone and it still gets warm there but i'm not going to drill it out i dont think
