Neat look and cool concept. To me it seems a tad low and short front to back for the guy that was sitting on it in the video.

I am pretty sure that video is quite old and only uploaded in 2008. Remember seeing these on TV in the 80s or 90s.

I've always liked the looks of their funky bobber motorcycle, but for some reason, I've been averse to seriously consider Sunny bikes. Whether it is warranted or not, my mind groups Sunny, Sunl, and Scooter Depot - I question the quality.

This was with the Central Carolinas Region of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA). We don't have any Z4s in our region. One guy runs a Z3 in STS (Street Touring Sport) class. See the Solo section of the SCCA website: www.scca.com/hub.aspx?hub=3

This concept reminds me of the Aprilia Mana 850 motorcycle with its CVT transmission.

I ran some auxiliary lights for a while. When I bought them they were labeled driving lights, but in reality, the beam pattern was more like a fog light. They were 55W H1 bulbs. My charging system wasn't up to the task and if I ran them all of the time, my battery would be drained. I had them bolted to a light bar which I in turn bolted to my front panel above the fender. My final design idea is to go the local U-Pull-It yard to find some auxiliary, projector lamp assemblies set up for HID and mount them on a scooter. I found this advanced how-to including some vacu-forming: www.scootforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=108&t=499

Chinese scooter headlights are crap for the most part. When I had my 150cc, I ended up converting to and installing 35W H4 halogen bulbs. The wiring diagram showed 35W bulbs but what I pulled out were 18W incandescent bulbs. The new bulbs helped some, but the design of the reflector in the headlight assembly was so poor, the light just scattered. Some on this forum swear buy HID conversions, but from what I've read it is technically illegal to install HIDs in reflectors not designed for them because they can dazzle oncoming motorists. Thinking of converting to HID? www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/bulbs/Hid/conversions/conversions.html

If I had the cash, the People 250S is my choice in 250cc scoots. I am 6ft, 175lb and I felt quite comfortable. I sat on an Xciting 250Ri and I felt extra tall; maybe it was the center stand, but it felt like I was riding on top of it. For me, a sporty scooter should lean more toward sportbike riding position, aka Tmax.
The GT300i, looks very nice, but it is at the price point where it is competing against so many other scooters and motorcycles.

mauiboy: Is your response directed at me? Where is the belittling? My comment was not mean to berate. I apologize if anybody took it that way. If we cannot have lively discourse, with different points of views, what is the purpose of a discussion board. Maybe I should have said, "my that is a nice bike, go for it!", but a question was put forth (presumably looking for answers): "But $5400!! The 250 was $4500. Is 50cc worth $900?" I answered that question. My revised answer (minus the "dudes" and explanation points): IMHO $5400 is too much for a 300cc scooter when lightly used, full-blown, maxi-scoots of 500cc and larger can be had for the same price. Depreciation has everything to do with final value. Buying new certainly is fun, I bought a new 150cc in 2009. It is your call, do what you feel is right.

Sure, if you insist on new and immediate depreciation.
When you start talking $5,400 one has many options:
2009 Piaggio MP3 400 with 1,400 miles $5800
2005 Suzuki Burgman with 1,625 miles for $3499
Then there are countless highway capable motorcycles in that price range.
I am sure the KYMCO is a nice scooter, but IMO that price is too close to high quality Japanese and Italian hardware.

No way dude!
Not when one can get a slightly used, 3,000 mile 600cc Honda Silverwing for less than that.

My guess is that the big Japanese companies do all kinda of market research and number crunching, then decide that there isn't much profit in those scooters in America.
The cloners probably feel that it is too costly to tool up for new designs. I think they should simply design something new on their own.
I am begging to look at some older scooters. I've got my eye on an Honda Elite 250.

I just checked the BBB site and Superior is down to a D-
I read the customer reviews on the site and it seems to me the worst ratings are from ATV and GoKart buyers. Also, one doesn't know how knowledgeable the purchasers are when it comes to Chinese vehicles. Do they know that these things are not "plug-and-play"?
I make take a chance on Superior Powersports in the future.
