I gotta say, interesting thread. I don't come here much, but this one caught my eye. I don't mean to hijack this thread, I just wanted to comment/compare to my 150.
I have a 2009 Znen 150 7C. I put in 13g rollers. What came out was close to 16g with plenty of flat spots. What you guys are saying is 7,000 - 7,500 rpm is optimal high speed cruising. I rarely see 7,000rpm and have never seen 8,000 rpm. According to my Cateye bicycle computer my top speed is right around 55mph. I tried 11g rollers, but found the revs to high and annoying in everyday, 35mph riding.

Thanks for all the info. I think the main problem with the headlights on my scoot is a poor optic design so I am going to try and use a new housing. I looked at HID lights on ebay and that does seem like the most bang for the buck. I only need the lights to last for an hour, so maybe I can just hook the battery up to a float charger every night and I will change out to LED lights for the blinkers and tail/brake lights. I will post the results as I go! On my scooter, I think the reflector is of bad design. The light is distributed in a hap-hazard manner. Is this what you mean by "poor optic design"? If so, where would find a better housing?

Jake, I tested the clearance and I don't think they're hitting the fender.
I haven't had them on there long, so I still don't know how much the electrical system will be affected. I don't often ride at night, but I do know that the stock headlights (and even the aftermarket H4 bulbs) are really bad. It seems to me that the factory reflector design just doesn't work.

I did put them on a separate switch. I bought a led, lighted rocker switch placed on the left side, above the glove box. The wiring kit came with an inline fuse.
The lights flood the ground immediately in front of the scooter but don't reach as far down the road as I hoped.
