I've seen the wrinkle finish in red, but not in a long time.
I used plastic primer (Fusion) on top of the original blue. I hope it sticks.
About the plug, I just arrange the wires until I had lights. I tapped into the two tail/brake wires and Bob's your uncle!

You're hilarious! Love the Cone Heads.
I sprayed it gloss black. Light coats and first then a heavy coat. On the heavy coat the nozzle malfunction and sputtered. I then had sags. Well, I thought a satin finish would hide the bad paint. The clear satin was still too shiny so I sprayed clear flat. The clear flat wrinkled the satin underneath in places. That is when I went all out and bought some black wrinkle finish.

Got these on eBay a while back. They were advertised for dome light use.

I looked at scooters and motorcycles. They had Tomos badged Heritage style 150cc Chinascoots for $1398. Doesn't seem like a smart buy to me.
I sat on a 2009 Kymco Xciting 500Ri, it felt like I was riding on the second floor balcony. I am 6ft, 170lb and felt like I was perched up there pretty high. They wanted $6800 for the Kymco.
In the scooter realm, I can't find a better value per dollar (for a new one) than a Chinese 250. Any bigger than that, then the motorcycles seem like a better value.

Because they are cheap, I ordered a CDI and a coil (black ). It's worth a shot to get this scooter going again. I've put just over 2,000 miles on this scooter. Once it's on the road again, I plan on selling it. It's time for something a little bigger.

Ok. My scooter won't start so I started checking things out. Starter is working, battery is strong, fuse is good. I smell gasoline getting to the engine. I pulled the plug and it was damp with gas. I grounded the plug (wire attached) to check for spark. When I hit the starter button, the starter wurred but I saw no spark. Which component has most likely failed?

The brights on my scooter are so weak, they are pretty much useless. I rarely right at night because of that. To compensate I added auxiliary driving lights that I now use all the time.
I'm thinking of getting a new jacket in reflective yellow/green.

what are "yellow balloons?" I'm assuming you're not referring to actual balloons, but that might get you noticed too. For H4 headlight bulbs: www.rallylights.com/detail.aspx?ID=1419Check your local DMV laws. U.S. DOT laws may also so "no" to these.

I had never ridden a scooter or a motorcycle before I bought my 150cc scooter. It didn't take more than a few laps around the block to get used to that small ride. Before I bought my scooter, I did try out a friend's Honda Silverwing (600cc) - I couldn't even turn it around!
Maybe you could borrow a 150cc to practice with. I sure wouldn't give up yet.

Without fail, everyday someone tries to run me over when I'm out on my scooter. 99% of my riding is during daylight hours.
In order to stand out from the crowd, I bought some yellow balloons for my H4 headlight bulbs. I got them from a rally light supplier online. I know this is most likely illegal, but I've been seen by city cops, deputies, and troopers - they all don't seem to care. I also run with my high beams on all the time. My 35w light/reflector combo is so lame, it can't be all that annoying to oncoming traffic.
I also just replaced my LED running lights (small lights above the headlights) with some Sylvania Silverstar 921 ST backup bulbs. There was a little too much tension on the wiring harness which pulled the bulbs inward. They leaned over and melted the reflector a bit. Mind you, these are small 18 watt bulbs that are indeed brighter than my 35 watt H4 headlights! So, I fixed the harness and drilled vent hole around the bulbs. I'll see how this works out.
Just had to vent.

Would probably need to design a way to lock them.
After I put them on, I wished they were bigger, but I think .50 cal boxes would probably be too big and heavy. I wanted hard cases as apposed to soft bags. There are no commercial cases (that I could find) that were cheap enough for a low-budget, Chinese, 150cc scooter.
I debated painting them black or blue or leaving them in there honest, as-is state.

I'm looking for someone to ride with in York, Chester, or Lancaster counties SC or Mecklenburg and Union counties NC. Just need to do something more interesting than riding to the post office or bank.
