Some people drill holes in the back of the muffler but if your scooter has the muffler I think it dos you will just be making a lot of noise with very little increase in performance. In my opinion your next step should be upgrading your CVT. A 1500rpm torque spring and some sliders would be q good start. You can then start thinking about performance exhaust, big carb, large valve head, and performance cam.
The thing to remember is that everything works together and just changing one thin at a time will not always give you the results your looking for.

In the summer any spare time I have (when the wife doesn't have a project for me) I'm allmost OCD with these stupid scooters. I'm ether working on my own, installing big bore kits for others, or working at my buddies scooter shop. I do manage to get a little camping in. We try to get out once a month in our vintage 1974 Winnabago 14ft trailer. Its mostly an excuse to drink all weakened. When winter comes then I tackle the big scooter projects. Man, I need to Get A Life!

I really like the Ida of an AF ratio gauge it takes all the guesswork out of tuning. I built a custom header pipe out of black pipe on my 50cc so I could easily add an O2 sensor.
