Rich...You really got to stop showing me pictures of your rat bike! It makes me want to start pulling plastic of my 50cc immediately! I need to control myself as that project needs to wait till after I get the 250 put into my Tank.
Nice pictures of your Vulcan! That's a beautiful bike.
I have a love hate relationship with the CBR. I bought it from my brother who lives in CA. He let it sit for 2 years and the carbs were full of green slime. It is so ridiculously fast that it isn't practical and encourages dangerous behavior. I may end up selling it back to my brother. I have just as much fun on my scoots without the danger to my driving record.

Keep us posted. I'm very curious to see what failed. Its a bummer for you but could be a learning experience for others with the vertical 250cc.

I have noticed that many of us have multiple scoots. Just wondering how many others have and why.
I have 3 one is my daily driver (weather permitting), one is my wife's, and one is a hot rod 50cc that I have way more money in then I could ever get out it.
I also like having a spare so when my 150 is down I still have something to ride. For example I had to wait 3 weeks for tires. I got a staple in my back tire so I took it off and found out that NOWONE will repair a motorcycle tire anymore. When did that happen? I ended up ordering a new one from the local Honda dealer. I waited a week and was told they were on back order and could take a month or more to come in. Canceled the order and ordered 2 from Motorcycle Superstore for the same price and had them in 4 days.

There is usually some kind of rubber bumper to keep the center stand from making noise. This is the one on my Tank 150. Attachments:

Kind of sounds like a ground problem. Find where all the ground wires are attached to the frame, remove the bolt, and clean everything with sand paper.

Glad you got it figured out! I have done several BB kits but never ran into that problem.
Its always a good day when I learn something new.

I was flipping through the South Dakota motorcycle licence guide and was surprised to see that they recommended using high beams during the day.
I definitely agree that anything that makes you more visible is a good thing!

I bought one just like it from my local scooter dealers. He was selling them for 20.00 because the "removable" option means they like to remove themselves from the bike when you hit a bump. I mounted it permanently to my wife's scoot and she loves it.

I will take a stab at it. I'm not an expert on the 250's I'm here mostly to learn.
The fan is switched on bye a temperature activated switch on your motor. When the temp gets high enouf the switch closes completing the circuit between your electrical system and the fan.
As to why it doesn't work with air in the system. Air is a poor conductor of heat and it there is air around the sensors it will not heat up sufficiently to close the switch and turn on the fan.
