I should know something went wrong when, my 250B stalled at the height of morning traffic in the middle of the 4 lane bridge! Frantically pushed my scoot to the 3 feet wide "shoulder" dodging some and thankful to the other motorists, allowing me safely cross 2 lanes. In the darkness not realizing what was the situation, I restarted my scoot and continued my commute to work 22 miles at the freeway speeds(65-75 mph). When I got to work, I noticed the hose on my oil collector was OFF! The place where normally the oil plug would be present, there was an open port staring at me. Consequently, I have lost ALL of the motor oil on the way to work. I know this, because it took a whole 1 quart to refill it. Thanks to the synthetic oil(in my humble opinion) there is no noticeable damage done. I did notice slight tapping noise. The engine temperature has never risen above the normal. I did take it for a test run and did not notice any performance deterioration. A note here: I think my scoot stalled because the pressure in the crankcase dropped suddenly when that hose popped. Any thoughts on this?

Thx Cruiser, This HID system is so called "plug and play", it was rather easy to install. The vibrations make sense. Need to look into it.

OK, so I upgraded my lights with the H-4 Bi-Xenon HID bulbs conversion system. For a while all worked just fine, the LO and HI worked like supposed to. Recently though, the “HI” beams do not engage (there is no audible “click” any more) even when I use the main switch or the quick HI-flash button. I am thinking there is a problem with the relay, that is a part of the wiring harness that came with. How do I isolate the source of the problem? Anything electrical in not my forte and, I could use some help in this matter. Thanks…..

..if I may put in my 2 cents... my 250B [2008] came equipped with H4 sockets (not the H4 bulbs). So when I upgraded to the HID, all I had to do just plug them in.

After opening my vario, I was very surprised to see this(see attached photo) With the throttle wide open I was able to reach 80 m/h @ 5200 rpm. MAX. I’m thinking the weights in my vario are underweight. There are 12 weights 8.2grams each(ahhh kind of, a few weigh 8.3 , one was 7.7 g). Some vendors list 15.5 grams each, for this scoot. I think I have received a wrong set. Am I on the right track? The visible belt tracking are on the new pulleys. The one on the left is J.Costa Variator, the other one is a replacement of the original (fan). Looking at all this, one could drive a conclusion that, there is a room for more speed (?) Your thoughts are welcome.

Hey DR.JR The high rpm were unintentional, I just wanted to see how fast it can run, so I cranked it up. High rpm and not so fast ...lol The vario is not the original one. It's the J.Costa, it supposed to give you up to 10 m/h faster with more power. I am suspecting, the shipper gave me underrated model (with lesser weights). I need to weight 'em and see. It seem, I rev too high while just cruising

New Road Test Results: After dropping the diaphragm needle to the lowest point and resetting the mixture screw from the dead end to 1.5 rotations.
1.No more bogging down. 2.Smooth run. 3.On the freeway was able to push RPM to 8,000 !!! 4.On the down side- max speed only 65 m/h @aroud 6,500 rpm
After the engine got to normal operating temp., it had tendencies to die, had to rev up to keep it going at the stop lights. Am thinking that I may need heavier weights in the vario, to push the belt up on the pulley? Is my thinking on the right track? One more thought. I did not check for the possible belt slippage

Cool Exhaust Jake! Say, to install the sensor, does it require to do the welding? After installing a new exhaust on my 250B, I have a hard time to tune it. I could use this gizmo :-)

Dropping the needle was my next step. I haven't check the spark plug for the color, after the last test run. Am very curious if there is any change. A side note here, with the main Jet 125, I could smell the fuel when getting started. This makes me think, that I was running Super Rich. Well, back to the drawing board (sort of speak) ..lol

ScooterRider are u going by the speedo on the scooter? it is at least about 10mph off! well mine I thought was only 5mph off as when I drove by one of the street mph meters I was going 25mph and said I was doing 20mph! but once I got my GPS mounted It starts at 5mph off then gets to being like 12mph off! like when Im running 60 mph on GPS it will say 72mph on bike, but 55mph GPS is 65mph on bikes speedo! so if u are doing 90mph on ur scoots speedo u r really doing about 75mph GPS Last time I checked ( not scientifically) I was riding along the GM sedan with a large digital speedo display, I could easily see. Her speedo was showing 60, mine was showing 62m/h. I will check against the GPS next

Thank you for the input Scootaway, I will take some pics of the equipment I have installed and post them. I should make a correction here. I meant to say an air filter, rather then intake. After my first road test after the re-mods, 2 spark plugs( I have exchanged after I stalled on the freeway) were completely black and covered with soot. I have cleaned them since then. I ran an other test ride(before the last Dr. JR and your suggestions) After the needle clip relocated to the middle grove and I dropped in Main Jet -120 and put back original Pilot Jet -38 Result: improved power(some) but was able to reach only the top speed of 63 m/h. I did not check the condition of the spark plug yet. Still felt the bogging at full throttle. I will re-adjust the clip again and see what happens?

I have relocated the clip upwards, to lower the needle, to reduce the fuel flow. ( I used a posted diagram as the guidance)
