Okay. I also just did a compression test on it. 120 PSI, not enough to run. This bike has more issues than I thought.

Yes that is the Vespa. And just one is a Ruckus. We haven't rode it because my Dad broke the oil drain plug o.O and yes they are pretty close. $500 for the Ruckus.

Can you just swap out a DC CDI for an AC CDI without modification?

Get your 12V light tester and test each wire when flipping on the low beams that will tell you which wire is feeding the low beam. Alleyoop Great little tool for a couple of bucks to fine wires that should have power or not. I remember the last time I used one of these...I slipped while I was testing a battery and somehow the darn thing blew the stuff inside the tester and then proceeded to explode violently into flames, catching my garage carpet on fire. Never again.

So what you're saying is that every frame is unique in terms of its attachment points? So unless I could take off all the plastics and have them 3D scanned and recreated...well...let's not go there.

Hmm, looks like I need to find a way to identify my Chasis.

It's getting better but we still don't know why it won't keep running. It will fire and sometimes stay running for a couple seconds with the exhaust off. We are gonna try to clean the exhaust out again.

For extra effect, find a way to apply loctite to your steering column and then wonder why you can't turn anymore!
I'm joking, of course.

Sounds like the diaphragm on the fuel cock/petcock/vacuum tap is broken. Replace it and it should stop leaking like that. If your carb ever fails and stops sealing the gas in, you'll have gas everywhere + a flooded engine.

Does anybody know where I can purchase a full set of plastics for my scooter? I'm thinking about completely changing the look of my scooter! Or is that not how plastics work? I'm not sure...are there full body kits available for a 50cc?

It looks like a cracked head..we compression tested it yesterday and it was running at 115 PSI, which is more than enough for it to run (132 is stock in this bike)...maybe a little crack like this wouldn't allow enough compression to escape to not make it run? Because we have spark, and apparently we have compression, and we have fuel, which combusts only if the exhaust is off but won't keep firing like that. I'm thinking the exhaust is clogged..!

Yes, I had to replace the sending unit. It was about $15 from www.chinesepartswholesale.com. Just have to pick the correct length for the rod on the sending unit. It was a direct mount and fit perfectly. And yes, I had to watch pretty closely. When I didn't know I had a fuel leak from my carb, I assumed I had more fuel then I actually did. What should have been a 1/4 tank was actually running on fumes! I've had a few close calls..
