i have 50cc taotao thunder with close to 5000km. when i leave it sit for awhile (overnight) and try to start it, it makes a whine sometimes, sometimes it starts to turn over and fires. once i get it started it idles up and then once it idles down it keeps going down until it stops. if i get it started and can keep it running and take off,once its warmed up it runs fine. when i drive it before its warmed up completely it dies when i come to a stop. but fires right back up. air/fuel mixture is good, valves are good. cant get the screws out of the top of the carb so i can clean it. could it just be i need to clean it? or could it be something else?

I've read a couple different things online but almost everything I've heard is different. Was just wondering because I just got a new 2013 TaoTao Thunder 49cc and it says 1p39 qmb and everybody else I know with a scooter says 139qmb. Anyways, your help would be much appreciated. Thanks

could this be due to me not keeping it under 60kmh during the break-in period? what kind of problems could that cause? once i figure out where its coming from will it be easy to fix? i mean, im not very mechanically inclined but i know enough to be able to fix it myself.
UPDATE: it is running down from the variator and theres black stuff in it, what can i do to fix it and why is it running down from there?

so i just got a taotao thunder 50, it has about 216km on it so far and today i noticed a small drip com from in between where the belt and everything is and what the cover connects to. im not too sure but im pretty damn sure i shouldnt have oil coming from there. someone please help, i cant have this scooter crap out on me just yet

My 49cc taotao is running to lean, I don't know which way to turn the screw to make it more lean or how much.

whenever i take off from a stop i have to get up to 4000rpm before it even starts to move. and when i start to go it sounds like it switches into second gear and gets more power. is it supposed to do this? if not, could it be me going over 35 when it was brand new before it was broken in? what could that even do to my scooter?

update on the gas mileage.. i google mapped the route i take to work and back everyday and its using about 50-55 miles a gallon. from everything ive read online im supposed to get 85+ miles a gallon.

its been running pretty wel for the most part. when i bought it they told me after 75km to change the oil to 10w-30, then when it hits 300km to switch to 10w-40 full synthetic. before i changed it to the full synthetic it was having a problem starting, i hit the electric start button and had to open the throttle all the way open to get it to fire up and then keep giving it gas for a moment to keep it started. after i changed to 10w-40 full synthetic i hit the elctric start button and have to open throttle about 1/4 open to get ti to fire up but still have to give it gas to not die on me. but once i do that it stays running and runs fine. but it still uses way to much gas.

i bought a taotao vip future champion 49cc a little over a week ago. it was doing ok and then lately it has been getting horrible gas mileage. like 30-40 miles a gallon. please someone help me out, i dont know anything about engines. please give me suggestions about whats wrong with it.
