Hey give the man a break - he sick man! even I would jump out of bed without a belt when a new scooter arrives at home - maybe even without the pants let alone the belt!! ;D ;D Actually, for all of the hard time we gave Colin over this (he took it in good humor), he really has given up on the droopy drawers look. He prefers to wear a belt. He was just excited, as you surmised. Now if I can get the boys next door to listen! No amount of threatening to invite "Bubba" over to visit is helping. They know me well enough to know I don't hang around with that type of character. At least they cover up most of their rear ends when I am around.

Colin put a belt on. He also laughed when he read the comments over my shoulder.

Only one has a windshield and it's the one that isn't paired up with another.

I get to do the PDI tomorrow! I had to write a paper today. On top of that I had to take Colin to the hospital tonight (bad cough). I guess he gets to help me tomorrow with the PDI. That will make him happy!

Yeah, I know. Actually, he's staying with me right now. He was sick this morning, so I kept him home from school. He was sound asleep, but the minute he heard that truck outside he was up and out there! He has been told repeatedly to put on a belt! He's 15 years old, what can I say?

My new scooter just arrived. The one in the green nightgown is me. The woman with the gray hair is my house mate. The boy is my best friend's son, who is staying with me right now. The guy in the denim jacket is my neighbor. People driving by were sure looking while we unpacked it! Now I'm exhausted. I didn't get any sleep last night, and I need to take a nap. I also have to write a paper for school before I can start my PDI. The paper is due today and I've barely started on it! Denise

I have ordered two. I figure that they're probably a good investment, since I can't see any possibility of getting help maintaining and repairing my scooter. One is within the parameters in this thread, and the other is small. Anything outside that range is unlikely. I take really good care of my belongings, so it was worth it.

Computers! I am self-taught. I do simple repairs, upgrades, and software.
Astronomy-- too bad I live where the light pollution is so bad (in a rural area, no less!). I did get really excited shortly after I moved into this house, though. We had an annular eclipse!
School. I am getting my bachelor's degree. I know it isn't technically a "hobby," but I love school and I love to learn.
Bible Study. Need I say more?

ooooh! That color that they have displayed is gorgeous! I have no experience with any distributor or retailer yet, so I can't tell you whether these guys are good to buy from or not. I am going to buy (in the next week some time) this scooter: www.extremescooters.biz/roketa-aruba-mc-04-150cc-scooter.aspxand I will tell you how it goes. This site offers scooters in the same price range, with the delivery included, and they might be a little more assembled. Only the people with experience can tell you. It won't hurt to go over and see what they've got. Don't forget that these are not like the more expensive scooters. They must be assembled and they are made cheaper. They will need to be put together and you will have to do the work a dealer would do to get it ready to ride. If you know what you are getting into you should be okay, but be sure to check out this board for all the dirt first. You need to understand what you will need to do before you buy or you will be mad! Denise

Man, that is a steal! I think I paid $80.00 for my wrench at Lowes. Don't worry about the fact that it doesn't go below 20, that's "snug it up" territory. It pays to care about all of this but don't over think it either, this is supposed to be fun, These scooters are actually pretty forgiving. Rich I love to research a purchase! I think it's half the fun of getting something new. My philosophy is do all the research and then don't stress about it because I did my best. I'll keep a little money set aside just in case I did forget something important, but I don't anticipate that happening. I'll be having too much fun learning something new to stress about what I might have accidentally forgotten! Denise

Thanks for that recommendation! That is a much lower price than what I already had picked out.

Thanks. I think I have my tools picked out now, but I'm going to have to upgrade a few of them down the road. I also need to get a lock for my toolbox. I'm getting tired of my tools disappearing.
