the bulb will not cause a no start. It will on some models, it completes the circuit on a few.

Check the brake light bulb. You may have blown the bulb while trying different wire hookups.

95-98 should do the trick. The 95 may need the needle raised a notch or two, if more, use a 98

Yes, but you'll be sitting about 4-6 inches higher, which is a very noticeable difference.

Rollers are ok to mix with a 1g variance, sliders could have issues with tipping over.

What do you want performance wise? Do you want to smoke the wheel and pop wheelies, or do you want the highest top speed you can get? You can get close to 200cc with a BBK and a stroker crank, and final drive gears that will take you over 75mph without having to ride WOT.
That body style allows putting a motorcycle gas tank up front easily, and extending/lowering the rear thanks to the freed up space. Throw on some short ape hangers up front maybe, or fabricate sport bike style body panels, anything is possible.

Easiest way to change scooter belt... That does not work on all gy6 variants, definitely not my BN139QMB nor my BN157QMJ-3. There is just enough slack to get it over the crankshaft and a bit more, no way to get it over the fan. Those variants it does work on may benefit from a smaller belt, maybe not.

Experience is worth the effort. Try their way for a few days, then try what everyone here says a few days. Then you can make your own decision based on your experience.
I know a mechanic who refuses to purchase feeler gauges, instead he uses a matchbook cover. He has learned from experience what works best for him. Don't be afraid to experiment!

I've been using dollar store oil for almost three years now on all my scooters. I change every 500 miles in cooler months, and every 300 miles in hot months. No issues to date, and even with my frequent changes, I still have spent less than brand name or synth oil would cost!

FYI- several years back, Scrappy's took it upon themselves to categorize scooter types and body styles as best they could. That "Flagship" body style is their naming, and may ir may not be used by other dealers. Body parts can be the hardest thing to track down, but asking in these forums will usually give you at least an idea of what/where to look!
