Thanks! I'm realizing those of us who like yellow are apparently in the minority! Count me in there! I'm thinking to paint mine yellow and white, possibly. VERY nice job there! I just purchased a used scooter in rough shape that I will be painting soon. EDITED: Didnt see but two posts at first and see my answer ;P Nice, white and yellow can go together with "gold-chrome" metal accent pieces. Please post pics when you're done!

If it was a dual headlight system where there was a single low, and a single hi, I would've just got some dual filament bulbs, and a slight rewire. You could probably run up to a 10ga at the lights. Battery, and stator, I'd use a 8 or 6 guage, which would probably need a bigger fuse. You could probably run a relay, or two, and take the load off the switch itself. I'm also considering switching my fuse with a breaker, they may not ever blow, or very rarely blow, but whatever. Electricity better flows on larger wire, it doesn't actually flow through the wires, but the surfaces of them. It would put ease and the stator, and battery, as there is less electrical resistance. Nice looking bike, I wish I could fit 16s on my bike, at least on the back, seems like a really upright style bike, though, yet looks like it corners real good. Nope, it's dual headlights. She handles more like a cruiser, but does lean well. Only thing I miss is the agility of my 50cc, it could turn on a dime!

I bought my 16" wheeled scooter (blue one in my sig below) from powerrideoutlet.com with no issues. Cali carb approved, delivered in a little over a week (ordered just before new years), MCO arrived a week later, no problems insuring thru Progressive ($105 for full year), and no problems at the DMV.

Sliders are definitely better than rollers.

So it seems if you keep all bulbs stock, you can slowly drain the battery with both headlights on all the time. Happened to me last week. I charged the battery back up, and have been running one light at a time since, no more battery problems yet.
I think I need to switch all bulbs but the headlights to LED, and remove those DRLs inside the projectors.

How old is the battery? Lead Acid batteries do not last more than a couple of years unless constantly charged, regardless if it reads fully charged (resting voltage is not the same as loaded voltage, but most auto parts stores can test load capability, usually free).

No, a CDI will not give you more top end (maybe .5 to 1 mph if lucky). Adjusting your CVT roller weights may help, installing a larger variator will help a bit, but the best bet to get higher speed from the power of your BBK is new final drive gears.

That can happen with any manufactured part, QC doesn't check every single piece coming out of a factory, only samples from batches. Just ask your local motorcycle dealer, they'll tell you that any brand has parts that randomly fail on brand new rides. In the case of the speedo puck, it could be manufacturing flaw, or assembly error.

I finally got around to doing this mod. I was able to get the spring out without breaking the tab, so I can return it to stock functionality if I have battery drainage. Definitely looks better with both lights on, and more visibility is always good. Thanks for the instructions dannytroy! Note- anyone else trying this, if you try to remove the spring without fully disassembling the switch, be careful not to gouge the palm of your hand with whatever you use to pry it out. I've got a nice small hole in my palm right now!

You're going to get tons of advice about locks, alarms, and covers. None of that will stop a big city crew of theives, search YouTube for motorcycle theives to see how they pull up in a van and are gone in 15 seconds. There may be a lock and chain on the market that can withstand liquid nitrogen plus a hammer, but if so it will be very expensive. That leaves you with paid parking (tip the guard) or storage.
Knowing how easy it is to steal any two wheeler, I concern myself more with rapid recovery. The sooner a stolen vehicle is recovered, the less likely it is to be damaged or stripped. You can get a TK102 or TK103 GPS tracker for less than $40 delivered (about the cost of a decent lock and heavy chain). You can get a SIM card for it that costs $10 every 3 months. You call the GPS unit, it answers and hangs up, then sends you a text message with a link to the coordinates on Google Maps. You can also set up motion detection and/or geo-fencing so you are notified by text message if it is moved, and then you can find it immediately (preferably with LE's help). The 103 even has a mic you can activate and hear the thieves, possibly getting their names.
An added bonus is a panic button you can use to notify up to 5 people with your location if you need help, perhaps you had a wreck and broke your cell phone. And there is even a remote kill command you can send to shut the vehicle down.
Note- Full Disclosure -I'm seriously looking into starting a business installing these. Adverting at $100 installed with a special 25% off for tracking feature only, upsell installation of the other features at $5-$10 per option, I think it could be a decent business.

Last year a couple of guys rode two 50cc scooters all the way across the US, from San Francisco to New York. One of the scooters they picked up for a few bills off of Craigslist. Here's some links including videos: goo.gl/deFv85

Right now I can't help but remembering my Dad and Uncle giving me one of my first lessons on vehicle maintenance. When I asked why it was called a dipstick, they laughed and told me if you are one, don't pull one!
