I think we could seriously use a thread on how to weld. Obviously there is more to it than you can read, but I'm sure some YouTube vids can be found.
JR? Can we do this and make it a sticky? It seems to me that welding would come in handy for any of us doing work on our bikes.

I don't think it's dead. Give it time. Most of us here are wrenching on our rides.

Very Nice. I've got a project I need some welding for. Care to volunteer?

I usually take a spot just left of the grease strip. That way I show up in two mirrors. Also, I usually have a greater space to do an escape on that side. If I'm riding with my group, then I want the right track. I usually lead and it's easier to give signals to the rest of the group from there. And speaking of signals..... Motorcycle Hand Signals

I don't understand why you would want something like a 40w/60 in your engine.....help me out here.....did I miss something? I run 20w50 already because it can handle higher pressures and temps. And it doesn't burn up as fast as 10w40 would. It keeps my engine cooler and it runs smoother. All that equals longer engine life with less wear. So, if I could actually put something like 40w60 in, it would be that much better to a point... My favorite oil is Royal Purple 20w50. It's made specifically for bikes and it works amazingly well. There is a very obvious difference in the feel of the engine when I use Dino compared to the Purple.

Seafoam, Love it! Saved me some actual work by cleaning my carbs for me. I really dislike taking all 4 of those buggers off. They are a very serious pain to get them all synched together again.
Now, I haven't tried this, but the Seafoam can also says it's good to add a bit to your oil also. Anyone tried this?

Yep, you can wind up dead from the grease strip. And then sometimes, it's the best place to be. The rule I follow is: Adjust to fit the situation.
Strange is it may be, what you posted from the book is correct, as far as it goes. And that's where experience comes in. You MUST CONSTANTLY make choices on what part of the lane you are using and other factors in order to be safe.

This is no ordinary machine. You put the original in and it uses a laser to scan the whole thing. Then if you told it it's a programmable key, it scans it for the code. Then it selects a blank and laser cuts it. Pretty cool to watch. The thing has like 3 buttons on it.

Go jump on the Burgy with both feet. As long as it runs and rides well, wave some greenbacks at him and take it home. It's a good deal, even if it's got 20k or 30k on it.
Be ready, it's much heavier than a regular scoot.

The Home Depot here does it and it cost us $5 for the cut, $30 for the programming. They have a machine that does it. You need to have a good working key to copy though.

I go to the side without exhaust if possible, then angle towards the next lane for an easy exit. I then watch my rear view mirror till the vehicle behind me stops. If I do get rear ended, I'll be pushed towards the next lane rather than being crushed between two vehicles. EGG-XACTLY. The only thing to add is if the vehicle coming up from behind doesn't stop, forget the law and split that bugger and quick!

MOST cars from before 2004 or 05 have that same problem here in Hawaii. The UV here is intense and a bad UV coat will leave your car looking like that.

Ratz! I thought we had the next "Mystery of the Week" here.
I was going to guess "Wiesbaden".

Nice. Should'nt take you long at all to strip it down for the paint job. Or would you rather powder coat it? Sounds good.

If I had the place to work on it and the lootage to spare, I'd be generous in offering him $600.
