I wanted to post my good results with this company. I really like fast shipping! Nothing bugs me more when I order something from e-bay or other online places and they ship it with UPS Ground. It ends up sitting in some state for 4 or more days before before it starts to move to my state. My order: 1 x GY6 150cc Engine Covers: Fan Cover $4.95 1 x GY6 150cc Engine Cooling Fan $2.95 To me that seems really cheap. I ordered on a Sunday night and my package arrived on Wednesday in the mail via Priority Mail from the USPS. Shipping cost was fair at $7.95 and I'm sure that is actual cost for shipping a box. I have bookmarked them and will order again. www.gy6150enginepartswholesale.com/

I just re-read it. I've got some checking to do. Off with the plastic again!
Thanks for the link.

Dang, still leaking.
It must be coming from somewhere else. Hopefully another gasket and not a crack in the head or something.

Lol Bashan and the rest of you: So I guess I'm not the oldest or messiest? I don't feel that old, but the first time I did a bunch of work on it with it on the ground I was really sore the next day. I guess using muscles that I don't normally use. No new engine yet, this was when I was having my clattering noise in my engine. All fixed now, but I always have to do something on it. Flat tire, oil leak, exhaust leak...fun stuff. I'm headed out for a ride soon!

This makes it a little easier to work on things if it is a big job. I jacked it way up with a floor jack, then attached some tow straps in my rafters and to the frame of the bike. If you are old like me, it helps to not have to bend over so much. Yes, I know I have a lot of crap in the garage. Please don't call the Hoarders people on me!

Wow, you used that for the header? Still working ok with all that heat? That is good to know I could use it for a valve gasket.
Tonight I cut out the material and was planning on using both cork and the RTV, but ended up just using the RTV. Mine looks like Bashan's picture, but red oozing out.
I'll let it sit overnight and see how it works.

Thanks for all the help. I got some red RTV today, and I'll try that. The cork might too hard to keep in place when putting it on?
Ootscoot, I didn't know there were different ones and that seems to be my trouble too. I'll order one up from flyscooters to have on hand.
I'll let you know how it goes.

I've got a leak from my valve cover. I replaced the gasket once with a new one, but the leak came back.
I'm looking for other ideas to seal this leak up. The o-ring gasket seems to drop in too far causing the leak.
I've got a roll of cork gasket material and wondering if that would work? Not sure if that is what it is made for, or if it would work mixing with oil and higher temps?
If I use the gasket material, do I need to put a bead of gasket seal on both sides?
Or do people just get a tube of gasket maker?
Thanks.

I think it was a loose nut in the gears. I won't say for sure, but it seems it is fixed. I'll get some miles on it before I say it is solved. I don't know what this gear is, but there is a nut that tightens up to some bearings on the crank shaft. I got it tight, put it back together and the noise went away only to come loose again. Tightened it real good a second time with some lock-tite and so far so good. These gears are behind a cover opposite of the CVT. The nut is the one with slots in it, and the gear rides on bearings. I think your referring to this:

Most people use 80# braided line. jct...looks like a shark mouth, but no teeth, really its a big vacuum to suck stuff off the bottom. Here is a pict of the mouth extended out. (Chris Hanson's photo) If anyone is in the St. Paul area, look me up for some fishing during the summer.

Jon - I have a question. Since sturgeon don't exist here, what do you catch them on? A long time ago, I read an article where they used gobs of seaweed for sturgeon. Just a gob of night crawlers on a large circle hook. Let it sit on the bottom of the river until she bites. The fight they put up is unbelievable. I didn't make this trip, but this is on the MN-Canada border this April: I've never eaten a sturgeon, but would like to try it sometime. I usually a CPR guy, catch, photo, and release. www.idofishing.com/forum/showflat.php/Board/cats/Number/894280/page/0/view/collapsed/sb/5/o/186/fpart/all

Well Jon, the variator is on the crank so when you rotate it back and forth your going to be moving gears attached to it like the sarting mechanism, so I think it would have some play and make some clacking noises. That groove in the flywheel looks pretty brutal, so you're saying now you don't think it's that? I bet it is. Rich No, I've replace that flywheel. Just posting a picture of the original one. I took it apart to put in a new key in and some other parts. Maybe the play is normal then? I just wasn't sure. Figured I'd ask before I put it back together. I didn't think there should be that slack in there. Right now, I don't know for sure what this noise is. I'll know more later. Ahh, the drama of the Chinese scooter....Sorry this is so long. Thanks!

This picture is the magneto rotor. Poor picture, but can you see how the slot is chewed away? This is what I thought the problem was, but still not sure.
