I recently purchased a cdi from tvnacman that advances the ignition spark at higher revs of the engine. I am going to try to plot a graph of the timing. First I need to mark a degree scale on the flywheel. The use of an adjustable timing light is also possible but must be mounted in a fixed position, because I only have two hands. I will also use my o- scope with one channel connected to the pick-up wire and the other channel connected to the output . I should be able to see on the scope the difference in time from when the pickup coil sends a voltage to the cdi and the output voltage to the coil.

I also will not join face book or twitter. It is in the agreement that they write as to weather or not they own the content that you post. Also any content you post on photobucket becomes their property. This is why I will not post any personal photos on these sites. I just post photos that don't really matter to me. The big item between the 2 scootdawgs now is ownership of content. It seems the people who post own it from the way it looks. This is true I own the content that I post on proboard forums. Read the user agreement. The content that I posted on another forum was moved to another site. without my consent. I believe this move was for monetary gain for the parties involved. I have requested that they delete the content of my posts and so far they have ignored me. I logged into the other forum for the sole purpose of deleting my content. I was about half way through and the edit/delete button was removed to stop me from deleting the rest of the content that belongs to me. I already have consulted with my attorney on this matter and he will get back to me with my legal options. In the mean time I have deleted all my posts at scootdawg.proboards.com and deleted my account there. I am not sure what proboards is doing about this. But I think they will leave it up to the user. I do not like people that think they can do as they wish with other peoples property. I am not looking to gain any money out of this, as a mater of fact it will cost me a small fortune in legal fees. But the parties that were involved with this are probably counting on the fact that most people won't care and the ones that do will not pay for legal channels against them. They are wrong I will pursue them to the fullest of my ability. Just for the principle of the matter. Sorry for ranting here. I will step off my soapbox now. Roy

I also have installed an E.F.I kit. It was a pain to install and set up. I got mine when they were fairly new on the market and where still upgrading the software for them. There is a Kit from a different manufacturer now.

Very nice video. motor sounds good to. I always thought those looked funny, but very practical in the rain. Your camera looks like it stayed dry to. I'd like to try to put a shell on my 3 wheelers. The wiper gave me a chuckle to. I do think you got a very practical scooter though.

Think I'm gonna have to install a main battery switch on the magnum. It has set for about 3 weeks without a charge on it. I have been using the charger for the mojo. Tried to start it the other day for an errand run that I was going to have to take a highway so didn't want to ride the 50. There is only a few bridges that cross over the Missouri river. The battery was completely dead, zero volts on the meter. This is a fairly new AGM (absorbed glass mat battery). This is the second time this has happened. Last time it only set for two weeks. I usually try to start it at least once a week. But I have been very busy lately. I suspect the digital dash is the culprit. I already tested the charging system and the battery so I know it is a parasitic drain.

The extra heat from more watts may also be a problem. May melt the base/socket, and or lenses.

Lot's of miles can be logged on a Chinese scooter, with proper care, regular preventive maintenance, and good riding habits. And they are a lot cheaper. It looks like his best riding habit is to ride a lot. Roy

Jct842, On one side I can understand a locksmith not wanting to take time to look for a matching blank. Let me explain. Most shops charge an hourly rate and this is factored into the cost of cutting keys and they usually have a set price for this. Several factors are used in determining this price. Including time to locate the blank and actual time to cut the key. If they charge $4.80 to duplicate this particular key and they spend a lot more time to find the blank than they used in calculating the cost to duplicate a key, they will loose money. Now on the other side if they take the time to find a blank and record what blank was used. They will have a happy customer and the next time they cut another one of those keys they can make a profit.

If a customer brings me an original key I usually don't ask what is it for, unless I can't find a matching blank. A lot of Chinese made scooters are not in cross reference books. Also it is odd that a locksmith would tell you to bring him the blank to be cut. That's money out of his business. Now If you ask me to make a key without an original I will get your I.D., the make model and V.I.N. He did state that he has an original key. jct842 did you have an original key?

Your local hardware store probably will not be able to help you. but worth a try if it's close. You may need to go to a locksmith shop. They generally have a wider assortment of key blanks to choose from.
