Try to contact them now and see what gives.
I have delt with Rick personally he did me a very big favor. I'm sure to him it was part of a days work. It ment a lot to me. I'm sure he will make good on whatever the problem is.

The piaggio ignition system is different than the gy6. The stator on the piaggio engine is what you need to be using. Use the piaggio setup as cyborg stated.

if it is a 4 pin regulator, I suspect a backfeed via a bad regulor.
If it is ac headlights.

But I have more than that one problem. The engine dying when honking is just one of them. The worse one is that I can't start. The spark fires only occasionally. Usually the first spark is the brightest and then it fades to non-existent. could be the same loose connection or bad wire. When you get it to run shake and wiggle the wires. John

the hoses your talking about are correct. The hose from the gear box is just a vent no pressure or suction. The engine nipple is connected to the air box. That is the crankcase vent and should be connected to the air box.
When was the last time it ran? How old is the the fuel in the tank? Did you top it off or just put some in?

Horn switch or wire goig to it,,,, good call john!!! I'm thinking loose connection, the vibration from the noise the horn makes, causes the problem. I don't think the new parts are going to make a difference, unless you disturb the loose connection. John

I wonder if vibration from the horn is working a bad connection.
Unplug the horn at the horn and see when you press the horn switch if it shuts off.

sometimes leaks are tricky, the drip spot and the leak sometimes are different.
Did it bang the engine when he went over the speed bump? I think when it bottoms out it hits the engine pipe.

The horn and starter button switches may be providing/removing a path to ground for the ignition. When there are bad connections, other things electrical can start to act funny. The starter button sends power to the starter relay, or it MAY provide ground for the starter relay coil winding. Either way, it may also be providing a ground path for the ignition. The horn may be grounding the ignition, as many horns are wired 'backwards', in that you ground them to make them work. tom Starter button provides ground for the solinoid, headlight switches power, not 100% for signals and horn. Two wire kill switches, side stand switches and tip switches provide ground. John
