With the ride-ability concerns gone and upgrades planned, its time to start a new build thread for the Matrix.
Latest updates: New tires and new exhaust.
The new exhaust looks great... but could wake the dead. I'm going to try to build an insert to tame it down.
Pictures to come.

Try $5.39 @ Suncoast Energy, Orlando, Fl. I thought that Disney would take you for a ride, these A$$HOLES will take you for more. M/C The worst thing about that place is that they don't have the usual signs on at the road to tell you what the prices are. You have to go to the pump to see it. They're right across the street from a couple of the major rental car places, so... they blantantly prey on those who are returning rental cars. The City of Orlando has been fighting with them about their business practices for a long time. Drive just a quarter mile north and you'll find normally priced gas. ;-)

Good question... The only place that comes to mind is EagleRider (eaglerider.com). They mostly rent motorcycles, but also have a few scoots in their lineup (all Vespas/Piaggios). I've been tempted on more than one occasion to rent an MP3 for weekend.
Ah, be warned that if you try searching, there are A LOT of companies that rent mobility scooters. So, just make sure you find the right kind of scooters for rent.
If I come across any other places, I'll let you know. I live 15 minutes from the "Land of Mickey" (we're annual passholders) and I drive past everyday on my way to work.

Is the equivalent to an MSF Basic Rider Course?
In Florida, the MSF Course is required to get a motorcycle endorsement and you have to pay for the class. I think I paid nearly $300 for my class. I think you can find it cheaper, but this location was convenient.

I've got a wireless keyboard, mouse and a MCE remote control setup to control the HTPC I have hooked up to my 46" Sony Bravia with an HDMI cable. Makes one hell of monitor. LOL.
The HTPC serves as my BluRay/DVD player and is used streaming Hulu. I also use Boxee to watch videos and to stream MLB.TV content during baseball. I can't watch my Detroit Tigers without it, since I live well out of market down here in Florida.

I bit the bullet and moments ago I ordered a new exhaust and air filter. Should see those next week.
New Gates 842 belt is on. I think I got an honest 1 or 2 mph increase, based purely on observation this morning. Sadly, with no working tach at the moment, I can't make any better judgement.
The new tires look good and will likely go on this weekend.
I think I should start a new build thread. At this stage, this no longer needs to be in the clinic.

belt size

Since you have 16" wheels, it mostly like WILL NOT be the 842-20-30, since that's the for the long case GY6 with 12-13" wheels.
If the belt hasn't shredded, yet and you're just inspecting it, it will probably still have the size printed on it. Just pop off the CVT cover and look.

I think that it may be time to finally install a new air filter. Anybody have a recommendation? What works for you?
In other news, I just ordered a new 842 belt (Gates Powerlink) and a set a new tires (Kenda K413 130/60-13). All of that should be here in the next few days.
After that, the next upgrade will be a new exhaust. I'm pretty certain that my current one has had it (plus its ugly).
Somewhere along the way, I'm also going to pickup a TrailTech Vapor to replace the bike speedo and (the now removed) gauge cluster.

I really like the looks of that Puma 250. Looks like it might actually fit a guy like me who is in the 6' club.

I appreciate the input, but I think I just answered my own question.... I was looking at some old pictures of the scoot and I came across this one: It looks like its just a little metal strap that ties it to one the starter bolts... now the question is... do I still have the piece somewhere? I guess it would be easy enough to fabricate, too.

Question folks... How does the rear fender mount on your scooter? Namely on the CVT side? The mount on the muffler side is easy (two bolts off the swing arm), but I cannot for the life of me see how the CVT side is supposed to mount. I assume I'm missing a bracket, but I've looked through all the places where I've been keeping parts and cannot find anything that remotely looks like it would work. I also compared my old motor case to the new case and found no differences.,
