No math wiz here. I have a bookmarked website that has a calculator on it. ;D Wish I would have known that... I did it by hand (well, with the help of my trusty TI-89). But then, I'm an engineer and supposely like math.

Yeah, that kit is most definitely not on the level. Its just a big bore kit with a 58.5mm cylinder (which, as zugzug said, is 155cc). There is no bolt on for a typical GY6 to make 200cc. That requires machining.
For comparison, my 168cc motor has a 61mm cylinder. If I did the math right, you'd have to have a 66.5mm cylinder to make 200cc with the standard crank. Alternatively, you lengthen the stroke, which will also require machining.

I'm totally jealous about that! I never got a chance to see that either. I always tried to tune into the NASA channel for the launches and landings, and loved it. Hmmm, hopefully they will have another vehicle soon. My dad (who lives in Michigan) always tunes into the NASA channel for launches. Usually he calls me on the phone to make sure I'm watching for it outside. Sadly, in all the times my parents have visited me, they've never gotten to see one go up. They've come close a few times, but never got the timing right. In the 10+ years I've live here, I've never been closer than about 25-30 miles for a launch. I'll have to get closer for one of the last two missions. The landings are fun. I've never "seen" a landing... but I've heard the tell-tale twin sonic boom enough times. Scared the crap out of me a few times, too!

I've always wanted to see it with the Space Shuttle trailing it, but never did. Looks like I've got a good shot to see it tonight. I've seen that once. Two little lights in the sky chasing after each other. Beautiful. However, I'm much more awed by watching them go up! I live and work about 60-70 miles from Cape Canaveral and its amazing to watch each and every time a shuttle goes up! Night launches are the best. Its a shame that there are only a few missions left.

It seems that a lot of the "go faster" people are either young, unlicensed, uninsured and unregistered and are are buying 50cc scooters to skirt the registration, licensing and insurance laws. Then they want them to have the speed of a 150cc scooter or higher but still not have to obey the law. I think all scooters should be registered and have the proper liability coverage on them. After all if you hit my vehicle and tear it up why should I have to pay, and believe me a 50cc scooter traveling 30MPH can do a lot of damage. Down here in Florida, we're a little backwards. We don't have a mandatory helmet law and you're not required to have insurance on any motorcycle. There's some fine print for both, but that's the general rule. Kinda makes you go "hmmm..." when we have so many motorcyle related deaths during Daytona Bike Week and Biketoberfest each and every year. In fact, at the moment I'm not insured, although I also haven't ridden my scoot in over 6 months. (Soon though!)

runningslow, post a good front pic of your lights. I bet you can work it in somehow. If you look on Ebay, there are a lot of round headlight car solutions that have the 'halo' built in. Of course that is not as fun as modding them yourself. My headlights. I know that I can't do the same as you, but there might be something out there worth considering. Round car headlights... Might be a strech. hmm, I'd have to take some measurements, but maybe something like the headlights for an Acura Integra. There's also any number of fog/driving light options. However, this all still sounds like too much trouble to be worth it. Actually, my biggest gripe about my headlights is that each bulb is single purpose, so one side is the high beam and the other is the low beam. You would not believe the number of times I've had people tell me that I've got a headlight out. I appreciate the concern, but it was getting old. (I use the past tense, since I haven't ridden in over 6 months.) I think a more likely project for me is to convert the headlights into dual hi/low HIDs.

The Xpeed/Ms3-250 is a little tight if you're over 5'6" but you can't beat the performance for its class. I'm thinking of putting foot pegs farther forward on mine. Yeah, when I first visited my dealer, I sat on the Xspeed. Way too tight for a guy my size. It would be fine if the bump in the seat could move, but I don't want the hassle of getting a custom seat made just to ride the bike.

I don't want to sound like a party pooper or a mail order marriage councilor,..................but it would be a good idea to talk with her. Some times women get a bit pissed when left out of the loop. john Spoken like a true husband! Been there, done that. LOL I couldn't agree with you more. Rest assured, she's not completely out of the loop. My inital statement may have been slightly misleading. We've talked about a bike for her in the past and she knows I'm planning to upgrade mine when we could. We moved this spring and she knows that the smaller scoot isn't suitable for my new commute. I can get to work, but it will take twice as long, unless I want to take a major highway (I-4) into Orlando. She's even talked about getting her motorcycle license so she can ride mine if needed. She just doesn't know that I've been window shopping the last few days. Her finally having a career (instead of a job) has been a long time coming. We've talked many times about what we want to do with the extra income. Lots of things in the house and some minor things with our cars, pay off some debt and get a good savings going, etc... On secnd thought, my truck isn't minor things, but its still running and has never left me stranded on the roadside. I've talked about my plans for the Ranger before and I know those upgrades may take some convincing, but again, she knows that I'm considering it.

A Burgman is not out of the question (and I added it to my list). I actually sat on a used 650 at the dealer where I bought my Matrix. I was pissed off after dropping my Matrix off for service and went into the showroom. I fell in love and briefly considered the significant upgrade. I didn't take it for a ride, but I did appear to fit the seat well on that on. Financing just wasn't in the cards at the time.
I doubt those two Baron V5s will be around when the finances will allow. It'll be a few months out. I also usually only check the Orlando Craiglists, instead of the Space Coast. Not that driving to the coast is an issue, maybe only and hour or two, but I usually find more stuff in Orlando.

So, my wife officially has a job lined up for the coming school year, which means we are shortly going to jump into a higher tax bracket. ;D We just won't see a paycheck until the end of August. While she does not know this, I'm starting to look around for two new scooters: One for her and one for me. I don't know, yet, if she'll really want to ride, but I definitely want a new one for me that's freeway capable. For her, I'd like to get a retro/vintage style scoot. I'm surprised however that there are not any of the retro/vintage style scooters in a 250cc. Well, I can find them if I want to spend the money for a Vespa, Aprilia or Piaggio (which, actually all have the same motor) Is anyone aware of any chinese or taiwanese scooters that would fit this category and still be 250cc? Maybe I'll just get her a 150cc, since I don't see her commuting on it. Maybe a Q-Link Pegasus or CFMoto E-Jewel, but definitely EFI. I have bigger dreams for myself, but I still want to stick to a budget. I really like the look of the some of the chinese 250cc bikes, but my biggest question... will I fit on a Reflex or Reflex clone?? I'm 6'-2" and currently about 230lbs. I think I fit great on my Matrix II, but it has a 35" seat height. I sat on a UM XSpeed 250i and I felt cramped with my knees in the dash. Bikes I'm looking at: Aprilia SportyCity 250 Sym Citycom 300i Kymco Xciting 250 Honda Reflex (plenty on Craiglist) Yamaha Majesty (a few on Craigslist) Yamaha TMAX (if I can find one used) Suzuki Burgman 400/650 (a few on Craigslist)BMS TBX 260 www.scootersus.com/bmsTBX260.htmlLinhai Aeolus 300 Mainstreet Linhai Aeolus 400 St. Moritz (when it is finally available) I cannot make up my mind, and I really don't want to get one site-unseen because of the size issue. So, the big question.... Do you know anyone over 6ft that rides any of these bikes?

That looks amazing! Too bad I can't do anything like that on mine. I just have two smaller projector lights, without a big lense covering them. runningslow, you mention your phone, I have a Palm Pre that is so hacked I can't call customer service any more. Overclocked to 800mHz and patches to the OS galore. I really like the WebOS and think it will be great when HP puts it on a tablet. I doubt I could call customer service either. My current phone is a HTC Hero with a custom Android 2.1 ROM, to enable some extra features like tethering, custom menus and status bar, and gain some overclocking ability. I just realized that I didn't do anything to my last phone (an LG enV2), but before that I had a Moto RAZR V3m from Verizon, running the Alltel V3m firmware to get rid rid of Verizon's crippleware. Phone ran better and it made the music player more user friendly. I did actually have to take my V3m to the Verizon store once, but I made sure to flash it back to the Verizon firmware first. LOL

I think I'd go all around.
I'm another one of those guys. I think I've hacked every cell phone and game system I've owned in the last 5 years. Not to mention the "upgrades" I've made to my truck. Soon, once I have the means, I'm going to feel sorry for my Matrix, with all the things I'm going to do to it. Muhahahaaaa... LOL

What is Rick charging you for the 200cc motor? $500 + shipping. Actually, I don't know if its actually 200cc. What I do know is that its a 161QMK like my factory motor (which is 168cc) and comes with the same oil cooler. This one may have a longer stroke, making it closer to 200, but I'm not sure. It does however have the 61mm clyinder. Regardless, I cannot wait until I have it and I can ride again! I haven't been on my bike since JANUARY!

If patience is a virtue, you should be a saint by now. No kidding! Granted, I could probably have been up and running weeks ago with a standard long case 150 from eBay. BUT... I'm sure I'll be much happier after waiting for the GY6-200. My patience was starting to run out, but now that I know my motor is in the US I can sleep a little easier. ;D
