Ok, if you cannot tell by now, I am a "can't leave well enough alone" kind of guy. I really like the 'white-light halo' look in car headlights and in a few sport bikes I have seen so I thought I would mod mine. It took a minute to find a vendor (even on ebay) that had what I was looking for. The strips are the same type as I used for the ground affects that I purchased from Harobor Freight only are white. I am not finished, but thought I would post what I have so far. I am trying to decide if I should leave the lights as is, or complete the whole halo. Any suggestions? Enjoy! Plain headlights, no mods: Lenses removed: shots of the tabs that hold the lens on: Stock lights (well not stock, I replaced the main with the one you see, and the small marker with the LED one) I will wire the halo's into the existing marker (small LED one) so they come on together: What the LED strips look like: Front view with lights installed (no lenses): Side view: Close up: Another front view: W/Lenses set on for mock-up: I think it will be pretty stealth unless the lights are on. Feedback please on the current outline or to continue them all the way around.

Personally I'd go all the way around, the more the merrier. Plus it'll take longer and keep you from doing something else for a while! I can't leave my Bashan 150 alone either, it's tore apart right now. What's wrong with us? Maybe......what's right with us?! Rich

I think I'd go all around.
I'm another one of those guys. I think I've hacked every cell phone and game system I've owned in the last 5 years. Not to mention the "upgrades" I've made to my truck. Soon, once I have the means, I'm going to feel sorry for my Matrix, with all the things I'm going to do to it. Muhahahaaaa... LOL

runningslow, you mention your phone, I have a Palm Pre that is so hacked I can't call customer service any more. Overclocked to 800mHz and patches to the OS galore. I really like the WebOS and think it will be great when HP puts it on a tablet.

Ok, so I decided to go all the way around and it looks bitchin! Gonna post pics later when it is dark so we can see the full affect. one of the downsides of buying cheap for products and not testing them before instal is that you get three of the lights on one of the strips that do not lite. I will leave it the way I have it and buy a new set. They were $3.50 per set (yep, two) including shipping so I don't really think there is a point to arguing with the vendor. Pics to follow!

That looks amazing! Too bad I can't do anything like that on mine. I just have two smaller projector lights, without a big lense covering them. runningslow, you mention your phone, I have a Palm Pre that is so hacked I can't call customer service any more. Overclocked to 800mHz and patches to the OS galore. I really like the WebOS and think it will be great when HP puts it on a tablet. I doubt I could call customer service either. My current phone is a HTC Hero with a custom Android 2.1 ROM, to enable some extra features like tethering, custom menus and status bar, and gain some overclocking ability. I just realized that I didn't do anything to my last phone (an LG enV2), but before that I had a Moto RAZR V3m from Verizon, running the Alltel V3m firmware to get rid rid of Verizon's crippleware. Phone ran better and it made the music player more user friendly. I did actually have to take my V3m to the Verizon store once, but I made sure to flash it back to the Verizon firmware first. LOL

runningslow, post a good front pic of your lights. I bet you can work it in somehow. If you look on Ebay, there are a lot of round headlight car solutions that have the 'halo' built in. Of course that is not as fun as modding them yourself.

Of course that is not as fun as modding them yourself. My headlights. I know that I can't do the same as you, but there might be something out there worth considering. Round car headlights... Might be a strech. hmm, I'd have to take some measurements, but maybe something like the headlights for an Acura Integra. There's also any number of fog/driving light options. However, this all still sounds like too much trouble to be worth it. Actually, my biggest gripe about my headlights is that each bulb is single purpose, so one side is the high beam and the other is the low beam. You would not believe the number of times I've had people tell me that I've got a headlight out. I appreciate the concern, but it was getting old. (I use the past tense, since I haven't ridden in over 6 months.) I think a more likely project for me is to convert the headlights into dual hi/low HIDs.

I used a two part epoxy not sure which brand. I did end up going in and taking out the top row. The bulbs I put in to make the headlights brighter were cooking the strip and turning it brown. It still looks great with just the bottom row though!!!
