Call your local dealers and see if any of them have a, "Buy here, pay here" plan. Not all of them have it because it requires a separate license as a mortgage company, and in some states, it can be really expensive. We do it at our shop and basically, what you have to do is put up at least 150% collateral. The title to the scooter is 100%. So basically, how it works is, let's say you buy a $3000 scooter. We make you put down TT&L. So you would be financing $3000. The scooter is worth $3000 and adding another 50%, you have to have $4500 in collateral. So you would still need to meet another $1500 in security, like a title for a car or boat or RV, or basically anything worth $1500.
Using this same scenario, we charge 33% interest and do an EFT from your bank for $100/week as payment. Once 20 payments are made, we release the security for the additional 50%.
This is a pretty common set up and there are a lot of dealers that will do it. The nick name for it is either Buy here pay here, or tote the note. The good thing is, we don't check your credit and we do report to all three credit bureaus.
Hope this helps...

I have the typical farsightedness that so many of us old folks suffer from, more and more each year, but this week I found the cure for straining to see your computer monitor! On the right is my new "old folk monitor"! 42" vertical inches of pure bliss!! Oh yeah, I still have the 25" baby monitor on the left for email and such, but I don't spend much time doing that. I have to say, reading discussion boards and surfing the Internet on this thing is a DREAM! My video card even lets me turn the screen 90 degrees, so very little page scroll is needed! I haven't gotten the wall mount yet, but when I do, I'll mount it sideways! This has really taken away the headaches from squinting and using glasses. If you have the same problems, this is the best few hundred bucks you can spend on yourself! -Rich

There is a purpose for the indirect air intake design. It keeps out the road grime, dust, pollen, rain, etc. You might have enough distance to accomplish the same thing with your mod, but I would watch it carefully for the first few months to make sure you don't pick up road grime in the CVT.

Big Guy, it looks like you are making real progress on your diet. Congrats!!! Thanks! It's going well and I'm at about a pound/day right now, so not too much longer before I can get back to a more normal diet. -Rich

Well it's dirty and dusty... been sitting in a garage for a few years, but the guys say it'll be ready for me this weekend. I think I'm going to skip work for a few hours on Sunday and meet up with the club for the Sunday ride - that is, IF I can still remember how to ride!

Got a call from the Vespa dealer in town last week. They had an 04 Malaguti F18 Warrior they were trying to take on trade and wanted our bid on it. Wholesale on it was $800, I offered $700 and we made the deal. It has 500km on it and is still like new. I made this one my new personal ride! It's a nice Italian (Japanese built) scooter and really screams! Has the power of a Chinese 250 and it is water cooled... -Rich

I don't think so Rich... customer service is important to us, and when you have a lot of do-it-yourselfers, it's really hard to provide.

Daniel Pak We want to thank you for your business, support, and friendship over the last 5 years. We regret to inform you that we will be closing our doors in the next several weeks (We will let you know the exact date next week). Over the last couple of years we have had over 75 of our dealerships go out of business and not been able to turn enough volume to keep the doors open. So much for Tommy being the "Spotlight Dealer" on the Flyscooters website! -Rich
