Daniel Pak We want to thank you for your business, support, and friendship over the last 5 years. We regret to inform you that we will be closing our doors in the next several weeks (We will let you know the exact date next week). Over the last couple of years we have had over 75 of our dealerships go out of business and not been able to turn enough volume to keep the doors open.

That bites. The real shame of it is that instead of people saying it's a sign of the times they're more apt to say it's just another Chinese scooter distributor getting what they deserve.
I just wonder if they'll resurrect Znendirect.com and start selling online.

I'm stunned, I thought Flyscooters was kicking butt. But you're staying open right Red Dog? You sell Red Streak too I believe. Rich

No I did not like the Red Streak scooters. We will be looking at some other suppliers. (Keeway, Hammerhead)

The distributors are really hurting in this economic down turn( politically correct way to say depression) My local dealer tells me that he gets calls all the time from distributors asking for him to take on their lines. Since he is a small dealer and well connected with one company he has to decline. The sales are just not there. However, if gas prices start going up hopefully so will demand. I know that my little business is taking a hit but we can weather the storm. And things have always slowed down the closer we get to major elections. We might see a slight upturn after 11/2 but it will in my opinion, be a weak one. We are looking at at least 2 more years before things improve.

Far too many people are hurting, far too badly. Unfortunately, most people don't think of scooters as transportation, they think of them as adult toys. That may change eventually, but until it does these kinds of problems are going to happen. I'm sorry to hear it.

Denise, you are quite correct in comment concerning scooters in this country. Scooters and motorcycles are considered recreational vehicles by the general public her but are a major means of transportation in other parts of the world. I doubt that, barring extremely high fuel prices(a definate possibility) or a worsening economic picture here that the public attitude will change.

Well, on the day that we're happily scootin' along in between the rows of cars and trucks lined up on the sides of the road because they're out of gas, we'll look like geniuses, won't we?
What will they say then?

Sad to see Daniel and Leon close up shop. They added a lot creativity to the business, both in design and promotion. Although I discontinued the Znen line last year, I did check up on the Fly guys just to get inspired by their enthusiasm. They had a great presentation and I learned a lot from them.

So Znen=Flyscooters=Znen? I never could get that straight. It seemed that Znen made parts, especially engines, for a lot of scooters like my Motorino. Rich

I get the same calls here from folks wanting me to take on their line. On company was willing to wave their minimum yearly purchase requirement when I informed them that I don't have the weather up here to sell year around. I still turned them down. I had a mess when Tank closed their doors without even a sniff of a warning from them. At least Fly is giving their dealers some advanced warning of what is going on. Damn shame a good company is going under! Jim/Owner Eapid Repair

The Vespa&Piaggo dealer down the street from me also has a Import and Domestic Car Repair shop. He had a nice store on the busy street here by my house, it used to be a used car dealership so the whole front was paved to display the cars. He had all the scoots displayed there. Well he is now selling the place and he still has about 20 brand new scoots inside his Car repiar shop. They let go of the scooter mechanic and even people that had brought their scoots in for repair are still sitting there. They don't have the money to pay the repiar bill. He has called all over to other dealers to see if they would take the inventory he has left but nobody is buying. So all toll he has about 50 scoots inside his Repair shop and he can't sell the lot on the busy street either. Alleyoop
