It sounds like a simple belt failure - this does happen a lot... defects. More than likely, when the belt failed, the rollers were also probably displaced in the variator, so you'll need to take that off for inspection and proper reassembly. Both the clutch and variator need to come off and inspected for debris.

Oh my gosh, I'm a Muggle and didn't even know it! Was at the state park by my house a few weeks ago and was watching as 3 different cars pulled into this little quiet spot I know - usually no one there. One with 6 kids who bolted from the car spreading out looking for something! This is pretty neat! I might hide a few things myself! -Rich

Redstreak, Flyscooters (Znen) and now some Jonway bikes (2010) do have headlights that come on with the key switch, engine off, so this does not apply generically to all scooters JR.

I prefer the scuffing method Ginny. The spots where you have the nicks you just use a little elbow grease and feather them out. And no, bare metal won't have any benefits... in fact, the more base the better in case of a scratch in the future.

You can buy a brush on paint remover from The Home Depot... it gets all the little bends and nooks and crannies really well. I personally usually don't remove the paint. I just sand it down some (called scuffing) and then prime and paint right over the old.

I changed all the fuses that I know of, two by the battery in fuse holders, and four more that are in a fuse box next to the battery. Is there some others that I am missing? Yeah... the one AT the battery. It is the small red wire going to the battery. There is a glass fuse inside a plastic case on the wire. It sounds like that fuse, along with your solenoid are both fried. -Rich

Oops! We've all been there before! Glad you're okay, and just think, more scars now for the safety stories to tell everyone! Shoulders are a bitch though... still recouping from a fall 30 years ago with one of mine! -Rich

Your dealer should know that you're having a ground issue. Tell him/her to check the ground wires on the scooter. You either have a bad ground somewhere or a short of power to ground somewhere. All of this by the way should be checked/resolved in the PDI before the scooter is delivered.

Common problem for dealers... Your fork is loose. Open the front bonnet of the scooter and look at the top of the fork. You'll see a large fork nut - tighten it up. DO NOT ride the scooter until you do!

...Assembly was trying ...the body was not fully assembled and needed the steering column, front wheel, front fender and front plastic cover installed( BTW, this is one major pain in the arse to get on)... Ha ha... sounds like the Ruckus clone... been there, done that! Anyway, we offer the same service for $275. We have the scooter shipped directly to us, do the PDI and send them on their way, but no one buys it! Fortunately, they arrive a few days later, credit card in hand! Most have 0-10 miles on them... -Rich

Okay, so like I said, I believe this might be a coil issue and the Sea Foam *fix* is unrelated and coincidental. This is the coil: It is basically your spark controller for the engine. It is the spark plug cap, wire and controller and is easy to find. If you want to try and clean your carb like Alley says, here's a link to my carb cleaning video. It is very easy to do, even for a beginner. If you are getting particles in your carb it might be due to deteriorating fuel lines. If your scooter still has the original lines on it, they are known to deteriorate from the inside out, or in other words, you can't see if they're bad. Changing fuel lines is covered in my PDI. -Rich
