Just picked our 1st scoot today. A Runmaster 150cc in Neon Green! Super easy to get together and took her out for her maiden voyage. We have a bunch of performance parts and I simply MUST be the 1st one to try them out on a Scooter! :-) Have to break her in 1st but once that's done, we'll be installing our DR2 variator, Digital/Adjustable CDI/Coil combo, Shorty clutch kit and an awesome Exhaust kit. Also got some new shocks coming in for you all too! Can't wait to start DA mods! Here's the video.... Enjoy! I sure did!) Kid N Me Channel

:-) Ya, it was so nice out and I was in a hurry to go riding that I left the eggroll oil in there. I'll change out the oils in the morning. Love the scenery! I'm out in the boonies so I can get away with riding without my tag or license for a few days. Taking theMC class next week or so in PA and then I'll be taking longer runs. Arkansas is a bit far but who knows! :-)

Looks fun, but I hate twisties! I almost take offense to that! LOL! I love the twisties! I've more than once dragged my center stand on the pavement taking a corner. That takes a few years off your life... There's a real nice, short little S-curve in the road that leads to my office... I just have to watch out for the big trucks, since I'm a warehouse district.

That takes a few years off your life... There's a real nice, short little S-curve in the road that leads to my office... I just have to watch out for the big trucks, since I'm a warehouse district. Funny you should say that! I scraped my stand on one of those curves too! Can't lean in these things like a dirt bike! :-) I'm still not 100% stable on this thing yet and it did make my heart beat a couple extra times. I did notice that I have oil coming out of the head cover drain tube today. I didn't change the oil out of it like I said I would yesterday :-( I'm waiting for it to cool down now and I will change it later today. Could this be because of the thin oil in there? I only have 36 miles on it but most of those miles have been full throttle. Going up hills, I top out at around 30mph. Gotta fix that too! On the flats, I hit 55mph but haven't pushed it past that. I think it may have just a few more mph in her, just don't have a long enough straight plus, I'm 230lbs!

Oh boy, live and learn! I should really have listened to the WHOLE PDI you have for scooters! I put loc-tite on all the bolts, fixed the electrical connectors but didn't change the oil (I know, I'm a big dummy!) or the rubber (I use the term lightly) hoses.
I did change the oil out this afternoon and while I was there, I wanted to take a look at all the hoses because that is something I figured "I'd get around to" and figured it wasn't super important for the 1st 100 miles or so. (I was in a hurry to go out riding because it's supposed to rain the next few days! :-(
The oil tube hose was broken right at the nipple off the head cover! This was where the oil was coming from. It wasn't a lot but on our buggies, I never have any oil coming out anywhere!
I don't have any tubing handy so I just cut it off past the break and put it back on. I will be purchasing tubing this weekend and we'll fix that for sure! It will be raining after all!
I got the bug guys! My wife even wants me to teach her how to ride on Monday while everyone is at work (Off the roads) and the kid is in school! I've had buggies for 5 years and she's spent about 10 minutes in them but the scooter seems to be another story! Could there be a "His and Hers" in the garage soon? ;D

Horror story! I wrecked the bike! A bunch of road rash and a cut on my leg. I may have brused my shoulder too. Really sucks! I was coming around a corner when a car coming the other direction was speeding and riding on the yellow line. I freaked a little and moved over to the edge of the road but being on a corner, all the gravel was piled up and I hit it. The bike is tore up a bit but it looks like it's mostly plastics and the throttle grip. I am so bummed (And really sore!) Thank God I had my helmet on! Would of hated to see my face look like the side of my helmet! Anyways, I'm out of commission for a few weeks!

thanks. as i sit around a bit, i'm getting more sore :-)
i really hope the wife doesn't shy away from the scooter. i'll get it fixed back up as soon as i can lift my arm.
unfortunately, the road rash is an old friend. :-) i wont be turning any wrenches for a few weeks i think. i left the bike at the peoples house where i wrecked and i'm too banged up to load it into my truck. hate leaving it outside. i may solicit some help tomorrow an go get it. i can tell you this, long pants and a riding jacket would have saved some skin! gotta learn stuff the hard way all the time!

The first thing you should do is change out the shipping fluids. I have read over and over people complaining about the oil and gear oil that comes with the scoot. Well guess what? They all have the gooey stuff, not just scoots. Its used to protect the scoot/motorcyle etc until its prepped for use. The only reason most dont know it is because most vehicles are prepped by a dealer.
Sorry to hear about your accident. I hope you get well soon. I just now seen your posts or I would have mentioned that you have to scrub in your tires. They are a lil bit slick until you break them in. Some people just take it easy for the first 100 miles but I usually go down into the industrial park and ride around doing lots of turns/curves. I start slow and easy and build up as the tire wears in.
Ginny! You know your inner child likes twisties!
