I wear pants, boots, armored riding jacket and full face helmet everytime I ride. oh, and gloves. years of mountain bike racing (and wrecks) and a wreck on my very first scooter when I was 15 (wearing helmet saved my life) have convinced me!!

Sorry to hear about the crash. I tell new riders practice, practice! Always wear safety gear - helmet, gloves, long pants, long sleeves. Usually I wear boots and my armored jacket - saves skin. The MSF course will stress that. I hope you're up and running soon and the Mrs joins you!

Oops! We've all been there before! Glad you're okay, and just think, more scars now for the safety stories to tell everyone! Shoulders are a bitch though... still recouping from a fall 30 years ago with one of mine!

Hi, Kid: Sorry to hear about your wreck but you could have been hurt even worse.
Always wear helmet, padded jacket in the summer, leather in the winter, heavy pants
( I prefer the Carhardt work pants myself) face shield on the helmet, highway safety vest,
(that way they cant say they did not see you) work boots or hightop shoes with steel toes,
and gloves. do this even if you are going just down the road and back. Look out for gravel or
sand on the road. I have dropped a bike twice doing 1 mph in my driveway cutting too close
and breaking in gravel. Even at that speed it hurts!!! (hurt my pride and my butt!!!)
We are all pulling for you to mend quickly and get back on the scoot. I had a horse man tell me once that when you are thrown the first time, get up and get back in the saddle. Otherwise you might not ride a gain. Good advise for us scooter riders too.
So, heal and ride on!!!!

I like the IDEA of twisties, but when it comes to actually being on the twisty roads, I slow way down. I just don't trust my tires yet!
