you mean pop as in something banging the insides of you exhaust when you decelerate usually means unburned gas gets in the exhaust and the heat in the exhaust ignites it and pop! pop! pop! my motorcycle does that too but never really cared, supposedly it ruins you exhaust valve but that what I heard. My valve has not failed doing those pops, for now. Alley knows the rule when popping and backfiring he could tell you, as I forgot what it meant. He posted it somewhere in this forum

remove the spark then connect it to the spark plug boot and ground it to the engine and crank the starter and see if spark plug fires while cranking

does it really burn anything or is it just to scare people? I've seen someone jumpstart his Yamaha R6 and his Honda CM400 with car running and they started up just fine. What's the deal?

I dont think the rings make a ticking noise O.o My engine makes valve ticking noise that gets louder when engine is getting hotter and accelerating but apparently my valves are set ok and they are normal

To me it sounds like bad piston rings as he is saying when the engine is cold and tries to start its starts shooting smoke but as the engine is getting hotter the rings expand and eventually the smoke stops. so it does sound like bad rings. Cold engine= contracted rings hot engine= expanded rings That's what I think

I meant that the wiring would be nearly identical because I notice a buddy of mine bought a DF scooter and had near same wiring as mine

I have a DF250RTC so if you need any help send me a msg yours and mine are nearly the same just different engine and looks. I have unassembled and assembled mine completely so I pretty much now how the harness connects with my eyes closed I adjusted my valves to 0.004 on both and seems to be working fine really helped with stalling during cold mornings I share your pain on the crappy wire harness. Mine short circuited 2 months after buying it so I had to buy lots of wire and make my own harness by copying what was left of the old on because the old one was melted together so bad. Mine idles nicely at about 1500 to 1700 rpms and that sideways lever is for the turn signals

Well finally I have reached 7k miles! I'm so happy, anyways a few days ago before I reached 7k miles the engine felt very rough and shaked the entire motorcycle very badly but when I reached 7k+ miles a while ago I left the motorcycle overnight after riding for 2 to 3 hours then the next morning when I started riding the engine felt very light and also before this happened I couldn't even reach 65 mph in 5th gear at full throttle but now wow i am impressed because the the engine feels lighter, less vibration and now when I shift to 5th gear the motorcycle feels light and even starts overspeeding when driving on I-10 when last time before this happened it couldnt even reach 65mph and was slowing down on I-10. does this mean my engine has completed its break-in? or does it mean my engine went bad somewhere? Motorcycle: DF250rtc Engine: CG250 5 speed manual Also I have slow take offs when on a red light but after a few seconds of taking off I start gaining speed, is there a way to increase my take off? 17t/46t sprockets I also did 30% marvel mystery oil 20% Rislone Compression repair and ring sealer oil and 50% 10-w40 Mobil 1 Racing 4T oil I have been running like this for a few days. Could this be the reason why the engine started feeling lighter and gaining more speed?
