Hey guys, Just curious what tools you carry with you on the road. I have a tendency to overdo things when it comes to being prepared, but I don't want to carry more than I need. What's in your tool kit?

Alright, I'll bite... I saw this topic pop up earlier and at first, it didn’t interest me. As I cruised the forum, it kept showing up and I kept ignoring it. Then, I saw your post about getting your driver’s license (congrats by the way) and that finally convinced me to reply to you here. I’m am experiencing the very unique opportunity of being a first-time, full-time, on-campus, college freshman...at 32. It never occurred to me just how far away I am from 18 until I started spending every day with 18 year olds. I feel like I’m from a different planet. You asked, so let me show you some music from my planet. That's what I thought too until I saw that video. That same dude, activity10cc, has an installation video for the box too, including wiring. The LED light is a plus for me. When my wife calls in a missing persons report on me, it should help the authorities find me in the bottom of whatever pothole I've driven into. They're horrible here in IL this year. DEEP and PLENTIFUL.

I don't. Don't have the scooter yet. Here's a YouTube video from a guy with the same box and scooter:

I don't have my scooter yet (it should be shipping any day now) but I did get the box I ordered for it. I ordered the Bestem T-Box on Amazon. It has the LEDs built in and seems to be quality made. I feel like the price was right at $90. I know you're looking for a used one, but thought I'd throw that out there for consideration.

Things seem to have gone off on a negative tangent here. I'll just ignore all that and say thanks for the link on commuting tips. It certainly gave me one or two pieces of info I hadn't previously considered.

I tried to delete this thread after I found out it was a non-issue. I can't figure out how to do it and in the process, I deleted my first post describing the problem. Since the thread looks like it's here to stay, here's my original post for context:
Hey guys, Today's the day I've been waiting for. I'm going to call and order the TaoTao Evo 150. I hit a little snag this morning though. I should have noticed it sooner, but the factory/dealer warranty requires a PDI by a licensed mechanic or it's void. Not only do I not want to spend the money getting this done, but I trust myself to do a more thorough job. I've been cruising this forum and others for months, learning about these Chinese scooters. I've watched hours of YouTube videos of guys doing PDI's and maintenance on them. I already have on hand all the typically recommended upgrade items, fuel lines, valve stems and so on. I have the Hayne's manual on order. Electrical connections, valve adjustment, bolt torquing, Locktite...the works. I'd like to get opinions from you on the matter. Would you consider the three month parts only warranty worth not only the couple hundred bucks I'd spend having someone else do the PDI, but also the peace of mind I'd lose by not doing it myself? Thanks!

Thanks, but it looks like I jumped the gun a bit. I called the dealer and they said that disclaimer only applies to the UTVs and Go-Carts they sell. They promised me in writing that the scooter warranty would be honored if I assembled the unit myself.

I'm no doctor at all guys. That handle is just a nickname my buddies gave me years ago. You guys seem awful curious about who I am. I certainly don't mind sharing, I just didn't think it would be of interest to you. I'm 32 years old and have worked in the engineering sector since I was 20. Recently, I realized that without a degree, my career had progressed as far as possible. I quit my job in September and am now a full-time student, working on me EE degree. I spent 12 years in the Air National Guard and it feels good to be using my veteran's school benefits. My wife is a nurse and we have 4 kids, two daughters and two sons, ranging in age from 10 to 3. In my free time, I like to learn new skills. That's mostly why I'm here. During the summer, I grow a pretty large garden. Tending to that, and canning my produce occupies most of my time during those months. I'm a social Libertarian and a fiscal conservative, and I hate it when my wife wears chap stick. I once had a beer with Roger Clemens in Chicago and almost got in a bar fight with Buster Douglas in Nashville. I'm super excited about putting a scooter in my garage and I'm damn glad to be a member of this forum with all of you guys...even LUKE

I swear, I'm not jerkin' you guys around. That's the price I got from KMS. All I did was plug cookees $675 number into the mix and then made some reasonable assumptions about the rest of it. I don't know how they're making the margins work, but it's working for them somehow.

Hey guys. I did a little more investigation based upon your input and I thought you'd like to know what I decided on. I did, in fact, decide to get the scoot from Killer. After a 3% cash discount and a $15 military discount, it's $869 to have the crate in my driveway. That's only $194 over what cookees says is FOB for the dealer. If their shipping cost is anything like what I've experienced shipping LTL in the past, they really aren't making any money here... Maybe $75-$100 at the most. Once you factor in their overhead, I'd imagine they'll be pretty close to breaking even. I can't ask for a better deal than that. Do any of you have any thoughts on this?
