Not to hijack the threat, but where do you find the most common bad grounding locations?

Ok you electric brainiacs! Can one or two or three of you translate this for me? I think tvnzcman is saying I have the wrong R/R for my scoot. Bashan is saying that it is the right one. I do have an auto choke. It appears I still need to run some tests to find out if the damn thing works or not (R/R). I doubt it since I put over 100 miles on the bad boy in the last two days and I've had to charge the battery four times.

What!!?? You didn't screw it in!!?? Kidding, that's the correct way.....not screwing it in......the dipstick. There's a joke here somewhere but I'm too tired to find it. Do you all know about the drain on the left side of the engine? 17mm plug, pull it as well as the screen drain. Then .9 L 10W/40 or 10W/30 dino oil back in on the above styled 150 bike. Run it for a ride, put it on the center stand and check it the NEXT DAY. You didn't trash your rod with a slightly low oil level. The oil pick up is really low so it's getting oil supply. Really low oil has the effect of asking fewer oil molecules to do more work. It is still getting lubricant so I don't think you trashed your engine. It was just it's time. The GOD's have spoken. Note: I didn't trash my engine.

If you maybe cleaned out the carb and taking the fuel ratio screw completly out it sounds like a spring that goes in there to keep the screw from vibrating loose. Alleyoop I'mo check that.

I use step drills myself then i use rubber grommets to line the cut because me and electrics don't get along,, LMAO! That is actually the hole for the door latch (not my doing). It still works just fine wit da wire runnin through it. It let me be lzy. It works great and is out of the sun and rain. I'm looking forward it installing this volt meter when it arrives from said near eastern country sometime next month!

Oh no, not the torque absorber spring!! Kidding! It's nothing, probably some guy at the factory dropped it in there. Rich Glad to hear that it is nothing. It is still a mystery to me as I have no idea where it came from. I was in there cleaning it out not three weeks ago and I never saw it. Note: Mysterious tiny spring inside CVT cover is NOT a torque absorber spring. *starts googling*

I just took a peak under my scoot and I noticed that I have two of the stock fuel filters on my ride. One pre and one post the fuel device (I don't know what we call this but is is grey or silver and has several hose nipples protruding from it). Is having two fuel filters normal or needed? "fuel device" sounds like the carburator? Having one prior is the norm, seems.. odd to have one after though, as fuel does not flow out of the carb from another tube, but rather into the manifold. Sure its not an air filter?

I'm starting to think that any BBK is not a good idea. Are there any kits out there that are worthy and won't overhead a stock GY6 150?

Yesterday I pulled the CVT cover off so I could change my sliders to rollers. Got'r done.
When I got the cover off and laid it down I noticed a tiny spring (dammit if I didn't lose it already) laying loose in the bottom of the cover. Having disassembled nearly 95% of my motor recently I do not recall seeing anything like this and don't know where it came from. Wish I had a picture to post. I'd say the spring is about 1cm long and about 3mm wide. Any guesses from you guru's?

Welcome to the forum. This place is great for all your scooter questions and solutions. Electrical is not my strong suit, but there are some boys here who are plugged in. They will be along soon I am sure.

Dammit if I didn't already know this. So I was just checking the oil level on my scoot. The first reading was half way down the grid on the dip stick. Yes, I measured it without screwing it in. I added enough oil to bring it up to the top of the grid. Here is where I would normally wipe the stick clean and reinstall with a firm but not overtightened last twist. But for grins and giggles I started it up and let it idle for a minute and rechecked the oil level. Wouldn't you know it? I'm back to half way down the stick again. (rinse, lather, repeat) I did this two more times and ended up adding 8oz of additional oil all said and done. Here is the pisser. I never did this with my scoot before I blew my rod bearing. I always changed the oil and used quality oil, but apparently I was always starting about 8oz short. I'm assuming that these little motors burn a bit of oil. My rod bearing blew close to when I was going to change the oil next. It had been about 400 miles. If I was running it hard and started with less oil than I should have, then I think I figured out why I blew that rod bearing. Ahhhhh! Live and learn. Happy Scooting.
