(To the tune of “All night Laundromat blues”)
I got those GY6 carburetor blues.
It has flooded everything but my shoes.
I tried cleaning and adjusting it, and it ain’t done crap.
I got gas in my drain hose an in my crankcase, I just don’t get it.
When you got these problems, there is only one thing to do.
Get another carburetor and maybe a petcock to. I tell ya buddy, there ain't a lot you can do, about the GY6 carburetor blues.

This can not be an easy job. It is not like it pays a bunch. It is a good forum, and has great members. I have saved hundreds using advise I found on this page. I will not comment on the forum again. My original joining was prompted by a post on 1000 watchers today. I just thought you should know why some do not join. As for me. I will hold my own until you kick me off ;-)

A new Carl Strauss opened up within knee walking distance from my place.
It is a very nice place that brews beer on the premises. All the great tap equipment to deliver beer at 33 degrees, just a nice place. It has large screen TV all around the building showing different events. My buddy, also known as "Tequila Brains" was with several friends visiting last weekend. The place was packed. During happy hour the beer is cheaper and they server 7%+ beer. Tequila Brains was hammered. No problem we are walking home....until.
Tequila Brains announces "If that guy across the room doesn't quit looking at me I am going to be upset."
I look across the room at the guy, then I look above Tequila Brain's head at the large screen displaying European football.
"Hey Tequila Brains, look up".
It took a few minutes.

I will check it out. I haven't been there in years. I have new hobbies now. I will be on the lookout for scooters, and dumping computer hardware.

Yep. Now if I could figure out why the fricken thing won't run.... It's a China scoot. You have to give it candy and talk nice.
Really mine will not run, unless I run it daily. I have found the best preventative maintenance for mine is to run it about 5 miles a day. It stays happy, I stay happy. I can not get it to idol consistently, but it is a China scoot.
It is time for me to start looking for tires also. I like the price you got. I can afford that.

I am getting gas in my drain tube. The carb was flooding recently and had to be removed and cleaned with special attention to the float valve. It seems fine now. The plug color is a tiny bit on the rich side, but it is not bad. I get no odor of "running rich" from the exhaust.
Next out to pull the cover and see if the sponge was saturated with gas during the recent flooding incident, and that is still may be draining into the tube.
Anyone experience this?

My wiring connectors all come together near the gas tank, and are zip tied to the frame.
My worry is my side plastic has a vent that will direct rain directly into the connectors.
Has anyone made a waterproof enclosure, or done any modifications to prevent water from being deliberately funneled onto electrics on a China scoot?

Even less an electrical draw than stated. A USB charger pulls half an amp at max. The USB 2.0 spec is half amp at 5v. The transformer loses a little power doing it's thing, but only a dead phone battery would pull half an amp. I put a lighter outlet under my seat. The relay is controlled by the ignition, so if I forget the phone on the charger, the battery does not drain. I also installed a switch to turn off the circuit when I am not charging my phone. I do have a 8Ah battery, and I plug it in to a BatteryTender every evening. So far I have had no problems.

Freakin' eh! Good deal. I live in the "Greater San Diego" area, I should get my butt down there. I could also sell some of the crap that is building up. I did dump a Honda parts bike recently. It is a start. It made the old lady happy. She got her garage parking back.

I go in for my $3 fill up every other day. The clerk always wants to know how far I got on $3. It is usually 65 or 70 miles. I am a regular at this 76 station because they have separate pump hoses for premium gas. That way I don't get what the last guy left in the hose.

When replacing a battery I use the chance to use the largest capacity battery that will safely fit in the battery box. The stock battery size (5Ah) for a 150cc is just being cheap by the Chinese mfg. To crank the engine more than a couple of times, you need more juice. A YTX9-BS is just a half inch taller than an YTX5-BS and has more than double the cold cranking amps. My 2 cents

Luke, HINT: It is in this post..... Someone posted it above. Don't think I will be needing it. I will flick back until I am kicked off. If twowheeler gets away with his stuff, there is a lot of wiggle room.
I have a couple of Japanese bikes, and a couple of English bikes. I have a Spanish hill climber. I bought a scoot because I wanted a scoot. I am not afraid to twist a wrench, or to read up on a procedure I don't know. GY6 engines are pretty much lawn mower engines compared to auto, or large bike engines. I like the simplicity, and the ability to get parts from eBay for cheap with free delivery.

Funny how they are the greate4st thing since sliced bread then all of a sudden they don't run and they are garbage. No sympathy here! Is there no end to your positive attitude and positive input to questions? Why do you post the things you post twowheeler? Hemorrhoids?
