Haven't gotten to the the b firing yet but the bike has been stalling and hard to start. It gets spark but the plug seems to be screwed in wrong because i cant seem to get the boot onto the spark plug properly. The bike has also been turning off at stop lights a lot and the occasional non start at which point the bike needs a jump start... jump starts always start it right up. - I am going to double check my valve adjustments again. what is that plastic part that covers the engine and can I remove it?
- Is it possible to screw off the part that attaches the spark plug and the engine?
- Considering a new battery although mine is only 2 years old. Can a scooter battery be tested for cca's? and how many are needed to start a scooter?
- Does the epson salt thing work? and if so should i do that rather than buy a new battery since mine is only 2 years old
- Ive also been stalling in low throttle. when stalling easing back on the throttle stalls the bike, accelerating further wakes it back up. whats that again?

Murphy seems to be having more fun with this bike than I am. So I fix all these damn throttle starting problems and now the tire goes flat. luckily my friend was following me and saw me pull over took me to the Walmart and got a bottle of fix a flat.upon filling the tire with fix a flat I notice that it was coming out of the valve stem.I will be riding around with fix a flat in my bike for a while but I wanted to know does anybody know how to fix the valve stem without breaking the bead?

Yeah a cig hookup will work. You could also put a trickle charge pigtail on it also. I personally would remove that vapor canister system. It is not needed and I think causing trouble. If you want to do that, pull that hose off of the airbox that keeps popping off and plug the opening. There will be a vac line off of the vapor canister running to another vac line or the intake manifold. Remove the canister vac line and plug or cap where it connected to the vac system. Off of the tank will be a vent line that runs to a check valve. Remove the vent line from the check valve, tie it off higher than it's inlet to the tank, put an old fuel filter in it. Everything between the hose that was popping off, and the check valve, throw it the hell out.

Holy crap! went to the auto store and back and my tank is stil full! what the screw? That ride used to eat half my tank.

yeah and since I'm having these problems with the battery on occasion I'm going to go ahead and install a 12 volt cigarette lighter socket to recharge it. is that recommended or not?

Make sure you bring line up the CAM SPROCKET with the two little holes even with the head and the big hole straight up. then you can adjust the valves otherwise you will adjust them at the wrong spot on the cam. I didn't pay attention to the two small holes on the cam. Only the big hole andn the T mark on the fan. What kind of problems should I look out for if I did do that part wrong?

Well if that hose comes off that means more air is being sucked in which now throws the carbs fuel ratio mixture off. So what you need to do is take that spring clamp on it and tighten the clamp a little by pulling each end out to tighten it up on the hose. Or you can try taping wrapping duck tape which sticks pretty good. That looks like the GAS TANK VENT CANISTER if you follow the hoses on that CANISTER one hose should be on the top which should be connected to VACUUM another hose should be coming from the top of the gas tank and then that hose that attachs to the air intake is the fumes from the gas tank going back into the motor. What your moving on the carb is the IDLE SPEED screw and or your pushing the throttle down and that is just like twisting the throttle it does the same thing. Alleyoop thanks Alley P, I adjusted the valve however and it cranked right the f*** up. the exhaust was so tight I couldn't get a .008 gauge in there but the .005 intake was slipping.I'm not sure if it's because I wiped off the spark plug or if it's because of valve adjustment but I'm sure the valves have something to do with it... lol anyway thanks guys I couldn't have done it without your help! I'm off to school now to get some work done

finally adjusted but not by choice now waiting for the battery to finish charging at 97%. why would the starter have a hard time with a 74 percent battery?

since the battery is charging I'm going to go ahead and space the valves but at 72% I should not be getting slow starter sounds.I do get spark of course

cleaned off the plug a bit put it back in and now I have to recharge the battery for the second time today

the plug is fouled there is debris on the tip and it was wet but the insulator is not cracked
