No problem. It's still very likely to be hooked up to the wrong wires... If you live anywhere near a Harbor Freight location, one of these is only $6. It'll do the job.

Maybe my link to the procedure was misleading. You don't have to take the engine completely apart like in that post, just the CVT and rear gears. That was the only post I could find with pics and a description of having the gear "pressed" off and on to the shaft by a machine shop... That's the hardest part... Take a look at the post again, I'm just talking about this short part: Next we removed the final drive cover and the drive gears.

This pictures below shows the old gears and the new. The pilot shaft has to be pressed off the old gear and pressed on the new. You will need a press for this. Most local garages should have one and not charge but a couple bucks to do this. Do not attempt to use a torch and a vise to do this. You will damage the gear or shaft.

See the Reduction Gear on the shaft well that is pressed onto the shaft so you have to PRESS IT OFF Because when you order taller gears you do not get the reduction gear you get the shaft and the findal drive gear. So you then have to take the reduction gear off the OLD SHAFT and press it onto the new taller geared shaft. Are you certain you are hooked up to 12V DC? The radio should be hooked to 12V switched power from the key switch and should turn on when the key is on, not when the engine starts. I'm afraid you may have hooked it to the AC output of the stator, and the much higher AC voltage has fried the radio...
Get a meter and test the wire you hooked it to. Let us know what voltage you get for all three conditions, key off, key on and engine started. Test for both AC and DC voltage.

My Ice Bear 150 scooter (2 wheel) does the same thing, I can feel increased vibration when I hold the rear brake at idle. Idle speed is around 1600, and no, the wheel does not turn on the center stand. I just figure that with the brake shoes engaged, there's a more solid connection between the motor vibrations and the tire/ground, amplifying the vibrations. It's done it since I got it...

Been there done that.. Man my 150 was LOUD when the weld on the header pipe broke there at the head flange. Thankfully I was only about 2 miles from home. That's when I finally decided to scrap the POS stock muffler that weighed like 50# for a much lighter performance muff.

Someone else might find it appealing. Scoot sat over winter in my (apparently not rodent-proof) shed. Musta made a cozy home...
Luckily I was wrenching on it and wanted to take a look at the belt. Otherwise I might have run it all summer like that.

Oh yeah, you still need the screen for any aluminum or other non-magnetic shavings floating around in the oil...

Glad to help... Let me know when you get the magnetic plugs in if it looks like that filter cover is magnetized too...

Ok, so is the cap for the screen magnetized too? So could I put the magnetic drain bolt in one scoot and the magnetic "filter cover" on the other? Then the scoots could fight over the gear bolt...
