Yeah I love Hooter's (burgers) too!! Definitely a bit of Americana, you should try some other places too. Like White Castle or Krystals (depending how far south you are), Steak and Shake too.

hahah*luke* i'm here just too much to do and see and no arthritis...yet. I love the way you guys are geared for winter with central heating etc. Back home whilst the winter is not that bad, you grab the old fashioned heater and sit under a blanket (not n snuggie) and wait for summer, here i walk around the apartment with bare feet. Went to the Air n Space museum at Dulles airport Virginia and couldn't believe my eyes when i walked into the Enola Gay didn't even know the plane still exists. Hooters made me sick but Five Guys not too bad. Good to be here in the USA trying to get used to seeing cars approaching from da "wrong" side. My daughter refuses to let me drive and I was the one to teach her to drive back home a few years...damn kids. *luke* i believe the TSA will tiker with dem hogans going back. Arrived at 6am on Monday and was surprised to see only 3 TSA officials checking passports etc of an entire plane load of people. That took a while. Only asked me the purpose of my visit and stamped my passport and that was it. Today want to see the Fire arm museum here in Fairfax I believe guns belonging to Napoleon and Buffalo Bill are to be seen. The other novelty is to see the reactions of people like shop assistants when they hear my SA accent especially when i speak my mother tongue which is Afrikaans to my daughter. One guy at Starbucks said 'you from SA" and i was surprised. I can see why you guys park the scooter for winter thats for sure.

*luke* I am still here but leaving coming Wed evening and yes i am excited to ger back to summer and the scoot. I have seen a view scoots here in Fairfax. Should the TSA want to tinker with my lightbulbs I will duly request a female officer to do so. I was wandering what they will do should i say something like "did you enjoy that" after the body search but someone suggested i should just keep my mouth shut. The visit was great I saw a lot such as Washington's house, Arlington cemetary, the Rifle Asso of America and a scenic drive up the Shenandoah National Park a place a seriously want to drive again but with the scooter. Also been inside the White House, up the Pencil building, went into the Masonic Temple and saw the Caps kick the Canadians' arse. I thought the National Cathedral in Arlinton was spectacular. The American people are not the friendliest bunch I have ever met though. They seem to live past each other, no eye contact. That was a bit weird to me. Otherwise the clean streets and the respect for law and order is something i liked. God bless your country.

Luke, what country do you hail from? Most kids in the US call their parents "mom and dad". And we still use sir in my family. But you are right, the majority don't use sir. I think it has a lot to do with a persons "class" in society. Unfortunately. I have found that people that are less fortunate and less educated have less manners.(most of the time) ALthough, and I emphasize this, there is nothing set in stone, obviously. I have seen and known some very rude rich people.
You all have left scootaway hanging with his question about "Ho and Hoe". Did anyone ever answer him. Don't keep the poor guy in the dark.
