More than likely it is an individual stations policy. there are several around here that have the same deal. john

It has to do with the federal laws governing ethanol and the pollution levels in your area. If certain pollutatnts are too high they're mandated to sell only fuel containing ethanol. If those levels are low enough then it's up to the individual station whether they want to sell it or not as John said. Rural areas would be more likely to sell ethanol free gas since pollution is generally lower there. So some Shell stations would have it, others won't. Rich

I have only used Shell for many years. My grandmother had arthritis so bad she could not squeeze the pump and I drove 10 miles to the nearest Shell Just to pump gas for her. I Never understood why the Shell Brand was so important to her but, I get it now. Plus my employer has a deal with shell and I can save Up to a Dollar per gallon. Yes, $1.00 per gallon Even if it's got Ethanol Shell is just a better gas all around IMO. Chevron is decent too but, the summer formula makes my cage knock real bad.

I filled up today at a Shell station in Ormond Beach Florida and the pump had stickers saying may contain up to 10% ethanol. After looking around most all the stations around here have those stickers.

Shell gas makes my cage run terrible, it only likes Chevron. I was using a Chevron that had been a Shell and it even made the cage act up.

The union 66 gas stations offer ethanol free gas here in the Boise area. OTherwise the shell stations and other gas station chains ( Maverick , Stinker stations , others including Fred Meyer and Albertsons) have 10% ethanol in all their fuel they sell . I am not sure if that 10% ethanol has messed up my gas gauge sending unit due to corrosion. will
