I don't know what kind of lights I have. I've never had to get in there to change a bulb or anything. The good thing about letting the gas run all the way out before I change the tank is, I'll know exactly how much leeway I have when it says I'm on empty. So far I'm 10 miles past that and he's still going. Petcock working lately luckily. Time to change it soon though.

I don't believe you have to change it every so often as in like a maintenance thing. I think just if you happen to get a faulty one or one that dies you have to change it.

I don't use petcocks...much better to replace it with a manual shut off... you just turn it on before you start and turn it off when you stop...
Just like the ignition key...

Well, if the petcock is working, I'd just keep running it and give your scoot a good break in.
It seems like you might have had something in the fuel somewhere, so rock it hard and ride it like you steal 'em for a living, at least you've got all the parts you need to fix it now.

Hehe. Ya I'll find out when I remove the tank ( if there is something in there ) Its been working on and off. I'm about out of gas so will be changing the petcock soon. If it stops working again I'll look into do a manual shut off

Oh thank you for the information. As of now my scooter runs well but it doesn't start without me having to give it a little gas then it drives fine and when i stop it will run for a few seconds and stop. I have no idea what might be causing this problem. Can someone please help a girl out.

It could be just idleing to low or to high. On the Centerstand when idleing is the REAR WHEEL SPINNING? If it is Spinning you need to lower the Idle a little so that the REAR wheel JUST barely wants to turn.
If the Idle is good then You need to adjust your Valves Top Intake Valve to .004" and Bottom Exhaust Valve to .005". Dieing out when coming to a stop is a Classic symptom of tight valves. Look through This THREAD Straightbangin adjusted the valves and there is a Video Link in this thread on how to do it. Alleyoop

Hi guys I am having some toruble with my scoot. Now it will not start using the electric button or the kick start which seems odd.
The scooter sounds like it wants to start but she just will not. I do not know if these scooters have starters or not. My scooter is identical to straightbangin's. I'm clueless as to where th battery is also.

Sduckers, the battery is under the rubber floormat. Pull the floormat up on the right hand side and you will see the battery compartment lid. It is held on by three screws. Take them out, remove the lid and you will see the battery. Make sure the battery has a full charge. Charge it with a 2 amp or less charger for a few hours.
If the battery is turning the engine over quickly like it did when you were able to start it, but it is not starting now, I suspect that Alleyoop is correct and you need to follow his advice and adjust the valves.
