Ya. I hear ya. Its basicly russian roulette at this point if I don't get in there to look. When I drove it that 1/3 block it ran, it was just tapping, so nothing was getting jammed up. I'd love to just pop the new nuts on,adjust it and have that but stay put where ever it is ( out of the way ) like stuck to the bottom of a housing somewhere. LOL. I think I'm going to have to take my chances. I need prayers and a 4 leaf clover ... and without a doubt... this on top of the scooter issue I just got my replacement kickstand for my bike in the mail ( the one it came with is defective) well the replacement was the wrong one so they send me another. SAME WRONG ONE. Have to call Monday w/ pics of the one the bike came with and the wrong one they keep sending me! Oh well. at least its not cold out Tell me this. If that nut goes nuts, and goes some place crazy and jams up. What symptom am I looking for? How will I know s**t hit the fan? I'm hoping it wont be something dramatic like scooter comes to screeching hault and i get tossed off it LOL.

Get your eye down almost at the level of the concrete and look around really good you may be able to see it like that. I can't see it getting by the valve and into the combustion chamber but if it did I'd just hope it didn't beat up the piston too bad. Look really hard, does anybody have a metal detector, ask your neighbors.

About the best thing that could have happened to it is if the timing chain took it to the crankcase, then don't worry be happy as it might get stuck in the filter area but shouldn't hurt anything riding the bottom of the crankcase.

Oh those kickstands typically have to be cut to length.

There is no way it can get to the combustion chamber. Even if you take the springs off the rockers You would have to take the Valves out and even then the nut is bigger in diameter than the Valve stem hole. If it did not fall out when the valve cover was taken off it is down in the crankcase it fell into the Cam Chain passage. Alleyoop

Raford - I looked like crazy. Eyes down to the ground, all inside the scooter, all over. my awesome luck must have made it shoot into the cam chain passage. i guess im going to have to put the new nuts back on the valve adjustment knobs, adjust and hope for the best. if s**t hits the fan what are the symptoms ?( the nut comes from where it is now and does damage) oh on the bike kick stand they sent me some weird long kick stand with a bend in it that is way different than my regular straight kick stand. it fits on the bike but makes it tilt to an angle where it tips over or almost tips over. Im going to make them send me the right one. its under warentee damn it Ill put the bolts back on the scoot tomorrow. just one glass of wine, i gave the other one to the neighbor and that kicked the bottle. We chatted w the other neighbor who i just met, who seems awesome. so knowing another neighbor on the property is cool made my night better My neighbor said, hey why dont you just tip the scooter verticle and bounce it with like 4 people to get it out. i said um, dont think thats a good idea, but it made me think... could I tap the scooter in a certain direction a little to infulence the nut to go some where safe? or safer? LOL!

Well it stands to reason that the nut is on the LEFT side of the Crankshaft down in the case MAYBE. So maybe I don't know for sure but on the LEFT side(the CVT SIDE there is a big BOLT HOPEFULLY, that is a Also a OIL drain and the nut may come out IF the drain hole is bigger than the nut. You can also maybe fit the magnet in there IF the nut is smaller than the hole and maybe pull it out. JUST A THOUGHT don't know for sure but you would have to drain the oil and see how big the drain hole is and if the nut is smaller than the hole. Alleyoop Here is where the Oil Drain is on the LEFT side by the CVT:

No the crankcase oil you know the 10w-40 or whatever you use, the gear oil is at the back of the CVT usually 80w-90. Alleyoop

Yea, I use that drain like every other oil change it gets to be a pita sometimes with the other drain with the spring and filter. Whenever I use the one with the filter there is never anything on the filter it is always clean. Alleyoop

Wow fantastic idea. Ya that friggen spring is a pita and my filter is always clean too. That filter MAY have my nut in it this time though. LOL. If I ever find that nut (am no longer looking for it) ill have to try draining it w the other drain every other time Thanks!!! I'm going to do an oil change today and the valves. Ill see if the other drain is big enough for that nut to fit through though.

at the auto parts store they sell a tiny magnet that is on a collapsing radio ant type thing that can be shoved down some pretty small places. you might be able to retrieve the nut with one of them. what would worry me is if the nut got wedged between a moving part. john

Ya that is my concern John, the nut and the wedge and the moving part. I hate going to the auto parts store near me because they dont speak English. I did an oil change and kept trying to tilt the scooter towards me to hopefully get the nut to slide out w the oil. No luck. Not in the fliter and I even went swimming w my hands in the oil for it. Nothing. Oh well. On to the valves.
John I cant find that other oil drain bolt. Its top left of the CVT cover if you are facing the CVT fastened to the scooter? I was trying to look at it from the inside / backwards / upside down in the picture LOL.
Update: I got the nut on the bottom and adjusted that valve then i go to do the top w the replacement nut and its a little too small so I had to take the threaded thing out and im going to bring that back to the hardware store to exchange it for the right size. i brought the other original nut when i went yesterday but i guess that didnt help.
With my luck, if anyone owns a real 4 leaf clover they want to send me i will trade it for 2 petcocks (one new, one lightly used ) unsure if they work or if my scooter just hates them. LOL!
