i still think the rectifier/regulator might be bad or on the verge because of the dim light issue. i priced the led bulbs and they are nice but a little expensive at the auto part store, they run about 8$ for a bulb lol if i would have known about them when i replaced the ones i blew i would have got those instead. i did confirm today blmy headlamp bulb is a 35w. spent all day trying to tune the carb for the popping upon acceleration and to no avail. muffler still gets hot enough to catch fire. maybe the wrapping on the inside of the muffler is blown out? should i drill the rivets out and re wrap the inside of muffler and buy a rivet gun and re rivet? or should i buy a new muffler? i think this one is toast... after getting perfect tan on the spark plug test the muffler still gets red hot after 30 mins of riding. any ideas mates?

there isn't a whole lot that makes an engine run hot. lean is the big thing. i think there have been cases of where a highly restrictive exhaust has caused hot too. I use a briggs and stratton muffler on my 150 and highly recommend it.

Did it sound like that when NEW? If it was quieter then I would say if it HAD BAFFLES it blew them out.
It revs up really good notice the stumble at around 6K, Move the Needle in the Diapghram UP one notch in other words if the Needle has a CLIP move the CLIP DOWN ONE NOTCH. That will give you more fuel through the MID-RANGE up to around 3/4 throttle, and it should take the stumble out at around the 6K mark. Alleyoop

Here is how if you haven't done it before: And if you can get to the top of the Carb without taking if off you can do it in a pinch:) Alleyoop

clip and needle? i assume i also will have to cut the fuel flow for this? as im sure it will make a mess lol. i will get right on it, never have tried that before but going to give it a go, its getting dark so i hope i nip it in the butt before its dark. yeah the hesitation around 6k is horrible stuttering and popping, come to think of it, i had that mixture pin almost all the way out earlier and it didnt change a thing, so maybe it does need that clip moved to allow more flow. this all tells me that the pin on the carb im turning is for air flow and not fuel flow just to mix it properly.

No you do not have to cut anything off UNLESS OF COURSE you have to take the CARB off. But if you can get to the top of the CARB without taking it off then you can do the job in 15 minutes. Alleyoop

So it does not have about 5 notchs then Like this: If not then you need a small Thin Washer to raise it. Alleyoop

BCgreatness, Put a small washer UNDER THE CLIP IN THE SLOT that will raise it. You can cut a small washer and then squeeze it the open end to fit the slot OR go to the Hardware store and see if they have small clips like that and get a couple. Alleyoop

COOL!! Well it is a good shot it will feed it more fuel to it in the mid-range which will help cool it down. Also taking a break for dinner as well talk to you later this evening. Hope it takes the Stumble out at around the 6k mark. Alleyoop

hope it does too, i have a feeling that i will be adjusting the air mix ratio after i add a washer to this do you think i should use 2 washers instead of just one? or try 1 and see what happens?
