CFMOTO has taken a turn. Whether it's for the better...or worse remains to be seen. It appears that the 2012 scooter line-up has been dramatically pared back. They will be bringing in the 250cc Jetmax, and the motorcycle themed V5. There will be no 150's brought in this country. There will be two new 650cc motorcycles. www.cfmoto.cn/Product_info.php?id=131CFMOTO will be going "all out" in the promotion and production of off-road units. Parts will still be available for any and all CFMOTO products. ouch.....

The price of gas is still at a high. People will be looking to two wheels for relief and Honda has abandoned 150cc again. It would seem to me that 50 and 150cc scooters would be all the rage. I'll bet you're glad you have JCL and Puma on the hook.

Those are some sweet lookin bikes. Is CF Moto a high end Chinese make or.....?
M13 has a sweet Yamaha Cygnus 125 over there in Taiwan, too bad the automobile industry here has so much pressure on the bike makers that they wont/cant import all those cool scoots we see all around the world to USA.

Yes, it's a high end make at lower prices. People have taken their 150cc E-Charms over 10,000 miles with nothing more than routine maintenance and fewer valve adjustments than run of the mill Chinese makes. You can be sure you're getting a good bike if they built it.

I'd say CF is high end for Chinese makers but their products are very affordable compared to Taiwanese, Korean, and Japanese. What I like about them is they're built of quality materials but still retain essentially the engineering design we're used to. There's not a lot of exotic electricals that you'd be paranoid to tear into and they're pretty easy to work on. I've got two and I had planned on another one. Oh well, what's up next for me Cookees? I want the 650 with the girl on top. Rich

8000 miles on the Ice Bear 150 Trike in my signature, bought back in March of 2009. Same original battery the only thing that broke 2 months after I got was the fuel filter. Bought VISU Fuel Filters and that fixed that problem. Last year I had a BBK and Stroker Crank and taller tranny gears put in and it has 2000 miles on the BBK and it will outrun just about any 150cc scoot around it will cruise at 50mph at 5100 rpms and cruise at 60mph at 6100 rpms had it up to 70 mph at 6800--6900 rpms the motor is just purring haven't had it over 7000 rpms to date. To get higher rpms I would need to go to 10gram weights to get it over 7000 rpms or a stronger contra spring. I am currently running with 11.5gram Dr. Pulley Sliders. I change the oils every 800 miles or so and starts on the first push of the button. But I do not intend to have it run at higher rpms it is fast enough the way it is. Alleyoop

Forecast is $5 gas!!!! Is there another scooter revolution coming? ? It's started already. Check out some of the online sellers and they're sold out on some models. If the price of gas stays where it is scooters and small motorcycles will be going out the door like lightning this spring. Why CF Moto is abandoning the 150 scooter segment is beyond me.

Americans love their cars so much they will pay it. Gas is going to have to be much higher IMO before they start getting out of them.

An other big expense people often skip looking at is the price of a car. A scooter could allow them to keep the old car longer not only saving the price of gas but delaying the purchase of another car. Last year at this time I could hardly walk due to the bad knee, this year I have no excuse and will be riding a lot more. john

Absolutely John. I've had a string of old beaters. My current drive is the 1997 Plymouth. I put 4,000 miles on my bikes this past summer. Ten years of that is 40,000 miles, at least. How far does that put off the purchase of another barge? The scooter accounted for 2,500 of that at 70 mpg. There will be even more this year at these prices for gas.
