Sorry to double post but I'm having an issue with my cellphone. When i type allot in this little box and i accidentally click off of it, it won't let me scroll down to where i was last typing lol. Kids and woman are hogging the desktop again. Anyways, like i was saying, when you find the right bolt size, go back and get the long bolt size for the one that works and swap them out with the ones r that are in your pully now. Hope it works for ya:)

Okay let me take a stab at clarifying the 2 types of CDI circuits. AC type, more common on 50 and 150s, physically smaller and will have 2 wires in the two wire connector. One is the kill switch the other is AC power from one coil on the stator, the AC power will only be there while the scooter is being cranked. The 4 pin connector, one wire (usually) Blue with a yellow tracer, is from the pickup that fires the CDI, Green is ground, and black with white goes to one side of the coil (out of CDI to fire the coil to produce spark). DC CDI, in the 2 wire connector there is only one wire used. It will have 12 volts DC on it whenever the ignition is on. It does not get it's power from the coils of the CDI. The four wire connections are the same, colors may be different. Here is a picture of both types. scootdawg.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=downloadattachmentpage&board=talk&thread=46540&post=453848Jim/Owner Rapid Repair

thanks allEy i was sure it was a normal cdi
so if it warms up , just a bit, im gonna try swapping the pick-up coil, by the magneto, with the one on the old parts scoot.
if that doesnt do anything im stuck for now. the flywheel puller i bought was defective, wont thread in EASILY , but since my car mech buffed it all out i cant return it
so after i see what piggers new vet bill costs ( yea he cant pee again, & im not putting his health in risk anymore)
i'll order a new 'puller' and then that will allow me to see if my old scoot's magneto will just swap out.
DOES THAT SOUND LIKE A PLAN ?

Sure sounds like a plan to me, Is the old scoot also a 150? reason I ask is if it is a 50 it may have a 6 pole stator while most 150s have an 8 pole stator. Alleyoop

So Alley is what is called a DC CDI on a scooter actually a TCI?? It uses a transistor rather than capacitors?

Sprocket, No, TCIs are not the same as your DC CDIs, I have seen TCIs on some buggies and motorcycles, they actually have a wire from the battery feeding the coil. I should not have mentioned it, HAHA. But you asked so that that is why I put up the TCI stuff in case someone wanted to know a little bit about them. Alleyoop

Terrilee, if the puller is defective, then go ahead and return it. I'll get my money back from the distributor, no problem. The only bit I'll be out is shipping to send you another one. Sure, it's not my personal fault, but I want your scooter running! Just verify that the thread pitch will work, or it would be a waste to send another one if it's the wrong size.
