I am 58 and live here on the Gulf Coast of Florida. I have looked at the 150 Icebear but am told with myself and my wife it would not keep up on the highway, so I want to go with the 300cc. But I have heard stories about problems with Icebears 300 with vibration in the handlebars and the rear fenders. They also make three different 300's and I cannot go and see them to compare, what is the difference between them and what about the problems i heard about. Can anyone help me here also with a good cheap dealer. Are any in Florida? Do you think a 150 would be better, I need to beable to go 55 at least with two on board. Also are there any performance parts around? Thanks

Well let me tell you a few things based on my trike which is a 150cc AutoMoto. The weird scooter with a roof! Both my automoto trike and 150cc scooter will both handle 55mph just fine with me, but you lose about 10mph top end with a passenger or at least I do. My wife and I ride together quite a bit, but I also have a 650cc Honda Silverwing for that. All this said, I haven't ever ridden an Icebear 300cc trike, but my wife and I test rode a 400cc burgman together and it was struggling over 50mph which is what pushed me into the 650cc. Several years ago I had a Qlink Legacy 250cc scooter and it was basically not much more powerful than my 150's. It could hit about 65 but that was it. I hope this helps you somewhat.

Mike has a 300cc Trike and he lives in Florida, pm him or just wait he will chime in I am sure. He will tell you all about it the good and the bad. First I would have to ask if your mechanically inclined if not the Ice Bears Trikes are not for you, unless you have a good scooter mechanic near you. If you can wrench some then we can help with any problems you may run into.
Mike and his wife do ride his 300 around florida but I do not know the speeds he was able to obtain with both of them on. But he will answer all of your questions and he has a lot of experience with the 300 Ice Bear Trike. Alleyoop

Thanks for the reply I am a ASE auto mechanic so I think I can handle the IB also did some dirt racing . I PM Mike he lives right near me I also left my phone number, but I guess he has not been on. If any of you can call him for me and tell him to call me he has my number in the PM's I sent. I just want to go buy one ASAP with this weather being so great. I am confused about all the different model names, seems like the dealers give them their own name also and I don't want to order the wrong one. Thanks

I also own a Magnum 300. I have not rod it two up yet, so I can't answer your question from experience. I do however ride a 25 mile commute to work and cruise it at 60 miles per. Going up long steep hills it will lose about 10 miles per. You also have to under stand that if the speed limit is 55 the 85th percentile will be doing 65 per. As for your concern about vibration they can vibrate quit a bit. Most of this is due to bad tires, out of balance, out of round,ect.. New better quality tires will cure this most of the time. The use of thin weather stripping and silicon behind the plastic will help keep the panels from vibrating. Hope this helps.

OK... John I sent you a PM and contact number so you can come and look at the Silver Bullet...This Magnum has many changes on it and walkes and talks, can do 55mph all day with 2 people but she has 255/50 on the rear and has been raised 3/4of an inch on the rear deck with a rack for hauling what ever with lights over the rear finder for safety. Sounds like you could do the same to one and you have tools

Also are there any performance parts around? Thanks The Magnum is under a modification at the factory right now to address the vibration issue and other things we don't know about yet. They are due into the states sometime in April, most likely at the end of the month. also the new Zodiac is due out the same time frame. Right now IB is completely out of Magnums and only have a few Tornados left. With wanting to ride 2 up and the speed you need a 300 is the machine you should buy, I don't feel a 150 will do what you want it to do. As far as your good cheap dealer comment, there are a lot of "cheap dealers" out there with not so good reputations. Too many of them take your money for the sale and after that you are on your own. They give no support, answer the phone or emails. Some require you to request the NCO for your title and take their sweet time getting it to you. These forums are full of complaints on some of them. I will not "badmouth" other dealers. Just do your homework before you commit buy. Read the dealer sections on the various forums, checking the BBB and making phone calls to those you might want to do business with. Cheapest price does not always mean the best deal. If I can be of help, don't hesitate to call, email or PM me. I will answer your questions and if I don't have an answer I will get you one from Ice Bear. Jim/Owner Rapid Repair

My two cents, like Jim said READ, here's the link to this forums thread on dealers. scooterdoc.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=critiquesRead the posts and make your list of questions that feel were not answered to your satisfaction and after that start asking. This way you are armed with the knowledge to ask appropriate questions and not the same old ones over again. If your not in a big hurry to make your purchase there is another forum that many of the member here belong to also and you may want to read that forum vendor critiques also. ed

Jcamaro: I also have a 300 Magnum, and I love it. It's a scooter so it is what it is but if you can do the maintenance skills yourself they are great little trikes. I usually ride by myself and 55-60 mph all day long. Feel free to pm me as well if you have any questions. Mike in FL and I are good friends and rode together last summer in Arkansas. vr, Lee

Welcome back Lee....John was over my place the other day but the Magnum was down as the fuel filter blocked out and I had to change it. I thought I hyad 8,000 miles on her but the 8 is a 3 but put her over 4,000 miles today went to Hudson to visit John one of our ner members. I got more miles on the Honda than on the Trike

Yeah I hear ya. I thought about selling my 300 Magnum too because I ride my 900 a lot. But just haven't ridden the trike much because I go to Russelleville alot and the 900 takes the interstate so much better than the back rodes on the trike. But everytime I think about selling it I just can't do it...it's a great little trike. I might up and do it one day we'll see. vr, Lee
