Todays 130 mile Scoot Cache journey managed to net me 18 of 19 caches today. Weather was in the upper 80s today. Got a bit of a sunburn today I really should have put on some sun screen. Probably drank 2 gallons of water. Left the house about 11:30 this am. Got home about 8:30 tonight. Sounds too much like work to me. I drive a truck doing city deliveries and average about 200 miles a day and 15-20 stops. I been taking a more leisurely approach to it. I like the park caches better than the urban ones so I went back and uploaded a bunch of the park listings around the area. Then I just scooted around a bit, stopped and went to one of the listings closest to me. I did that a couple times yesterday. It was pretty fun but I did get caught out in the woods during a severe thunderstorm. I can definately say the PN-40 is waterproof. It faired quite a bit better than I did in my makeshift raingear. I do love a warm rain though so it was no big deal. -Zug

Got home LAST NIGHT FROM A TECHNOLOGY FREE WEEKEND. Found my first geocache today. Didn't sign the log yet as I want to 'find' it again with my husband.

so I went out and looked again for it today. I cut short my last post because the husband came to sit by me, I didn't want him to know I found it without him. I will 'find' it again with him. There are a couple more in walking distance from my house that I can find. I'm afraid that we won't have much time to seek on the weekends. He has most weekends booked up with some thing or another. So when we have time together we might be able to seek, I may be doing most alone. There are some bad things going on at his office, he has to choose 11 people to lay off. He's not doing well with that. . .had a two hour meeting today about it and was in bed by 9:30. I feel sad for him.
Oh and does anyone make things that are all the same to leave in the tradeable caches? I was thinking of doing that, making something to leave in the caches to say I was there.

Wow Ginny. Really sorry your hubby has to go through that. Having to layoff people you work with and a lot of time have come to be like family is never easy. I hope things go well and he can cope with it and not get to depressed.
Some people do make their own SWAG. This one young couple make these personalized coins/tags that they put in caches at trade items. I personally bought a bunch of Lanyards and some small heavy duty Ziploc bags I put a business geocacheing card I made up in with the lanyard and leave as my signature item.

I hope things go well and he can cope with it and not get too depressed. Well, one of the guys that are on the list was one of the guys that we camped with this weekend. So meeting him, getting to know him better, it makes it that much harder for Tom. Unfortunately we all got to see why he is on the list, no urgency to him. He was always late, always slow, and even in a crowd he was not 'with' us. Not that it makes it easier to tell him he's losing his job. I was thinking of making some coins that have our geocaching ID on them from shrink plastic. I wouldn't take anything, but would just leave them as a 'we were here' kind of thing. A little more than just the sign-the-log thing. Tom said I should go on without him for now. I will go back, find and sign, and find the others within walking distance of my house. I will do one per day so I have it to look forward to instead of doing them all in one day.

Oh Ginny, once you get into caching it is like that potato chip commercial you can do just one. You will find yourself thinking about your next little trip and wondering is there a cache near by there I can go and get. One of the other things is called the Delorme Challenge I think most of the States have one up. Basicly it is a Challenge cache that has you find one cache that falls on every page of the Delorme Gazzetter for your state. Then there are Series Caches where you are challenged to go out and find all the caches assigend to that series write down codes to find a final cache. Little things like that. Also The challeng and goal I have set is to get at least one cache in every State. Right now anytime I am sent out to projects out of state now I always do a search for caches in the area of the project. I am hopeing to get a chance to go out to the project we have going out in Kahuku Hawaii.

Ginny, I work for a company called RMT. We to landfill design, Remediation work and Design Build of Windfarms and Solar farms. Our company has built the largest Windfarm in the united states to be designed and built in 1 year with 322 turbine that puts out 450 Mega WATTS of power. That was in Indiana. We have a project that is being built in Hawaii right now. I work in the CADD department. Our department also Does QCQA work. I primarily do relief/fill in when the someone needs a weekend off or takes some R&R I go down and fill in. So I am hoping I get slated to fill in on this project. :-)
